Im new to indoor growing, but i have converted a cabinet to function as a small grow area. the dimensions are 2foot deep, 5.5foot high and 3.5foot wide, I have ordered a 250w hps light with a white batwing reflector. and I am using one exhaust fan and one intake fan....they seem to keep very good air flow. i want to know you guys opinion because you seem very knowledgable. My concern is the temperature,Im told I'll be fine but i want to know your opinion and any other ideas you might have, like is maylar a need and should i stick with the white reflector or go chrome, I chose white because it seems like that would stay cooler but im not even sure if the reflector makes a difference. thank you for your help in advance.
Don't forget an oscillating fan to blow air on the plants.. White washing the walls should do. Buy a maximum/minimum thermometer/hygrometer then switch everything on for 24 hours and check your temperature and relative humidity.
You've got emough light for vegging but you're gonna need more light (for a total of 350 watts HPS) for maximum yield. A 400-watt full-spectrum HPS would be ultra sweet.
I originally wanted a 400w system but had fears that my grow space was to limited to use a bulb that large temp was my primary concern...is that a worry or would I be ok with a 400w
If you already have intake and exhaust fans installed, providing enough ventilation for a bigger light is very easy--just get more powerful fans.
Ok, well then ill go that road then with the ventilation and lighting. So Ill use the 250w for veg and 400w for flowering. Also I was curious My only breed is strawberry cough, Ive had great results for about 3 grow seasons outdoor but how viable is this as an indoor breed? Also any sugjestions on very good high yield or potency indoor breeds.
also is it a bad idea to order seeds to the US. up to this point Ive just used a few clones I got a few years ago and kept clonig from one i picked as a mother..
