I snapped these pictures at my parents' cottage in the hills of the Southern Tier of New York State. I love going there to get away from the city and enjoy the nature. There is no place I'd rather be in the summer. I am really at peace whenever I'm there.

I can't deal with the City itself, but Upstate and the rural regions of NY are damn pretty. What amazed me most when I've been was how well kept everything is. Around the south we have a lot of old buildings and farms and churches, but most of them are nearly falling in on themselves. There nearly everything was restored and kept up. The places had a hometownieness that was comfortable. Nice place your 'rents have there! Thanks for sharing it.

I'm within easy striking distance of places like that, but to live there would be a dream come true. Imagine, early morning, walking out the door and down to the water...just great.

When I was a young girl my parents rented a house on a lake for 2 weeks out of the summer. They loved it so much they bought land and built a house 50 ft. from the water. Mornings the water looked like glass. It was beautiful. Sunsets were breath taking. Bombfires at night were awesome. Swimming, boating, fishing, ice skating, ice fishing, what awesome memories. :)

Yeah, I plan on moving out to the country one of these days. City living is not for me. There is so much more tension and negative energy in the air.

I live in a what used to be a village on the outskirts of a small town, but they've sort of become one now, still small compared to a city though. It's mid morning now and the sound of grass cutters etc. is just so ugh! never stops, always noise from some source. I want to hear birds and insects, all the country sounds, not stuff that reminds me of the daily grind. Oh well, maybe oneday!

Hmmmmmm.. ....if this is where you are spending your summers how can you expect anyone to believe in your claims of an illuminati conspiracy?

    Just a thought.

Nope, not the Finger Lakes. It's not far from the region, but a little more to the south.

oh it's just that a little bird asked me....sorry allow me to simplify...if this is where you are spending your summers than how do you expect anyone to believe ANYTHING you say??

that is unless it's some sort of covert operation to infiltrate and overthrow from within?

    if so than cool!

if not than hmmm... just a thought.
