    Furthermore, wild flora and fauna are much more scarce than they used to be, before European colonialization.

    Where bison herds that fed Plains natives (and also eastern woodland indians to a lesser extent, as these socities frequently traded) once roamed are now mostly huge wheatfields and cornfields that are quickly depleting the topsoil (and most likely going to turn the region into a giant desert when things crash.) Most fish is unsafe to eat AND is also beginning to disappear. And many many more atrocities. A dieoff is in store, indeed.
