I've had problems with keloids (sp?) whenever I get peirced - just wondering if there is a similar problem with tattoos... is it possible to reject a tattoo? Or any other immune system issues that could impair healing? Thanks in advance

I've heard of people being allergic to the ink before but that is all I can think of.

allergic reactions to tattoos look like other contact reactions: itchy, bumpy, scabby. I have a very slight reaction to certain reds, but only when my other allergies are flaring up and a claritin handles it. I suppose scratchy and rashes could cause scarring.

I've never heard of a tattoo rejecting, but sometimes a patch of ink won't "take" while healing and leave a light spot. This can always be touched up. The big thing to worry about once the tattoo is healed is keeping it out of the sun.

    Peace

That could increase your healing time but that's about it. Any blood related issues could be a factor in your healing.

I had an allergic reaction to the cream they told me to use as an aftercare product on my tattoo. The result is that the tattoo is now raised as if it is a scar. It made the healing process a lot longer time wise but ive had no problems since then. If you know your allergic to certain things take precautions before gettign any kind of tattoo.
