Both get a following but in my opinion the Phil Lesh scene is better. The Phil shows I was at had good outside scene and a very cool vibe inside the venue. Ratdog scene didnt seem as cool. Everyone has their own opinion on this though. Im looking forward to a cool parking lot scene for the upcoming Phil shows.

scenes also depend on venues. Both get scenes at "desirable" venues such as Red Rocks.

phil lesh is cool.. and dedicated dead heads should continue to follow him.. but bob weir and ratdog... deadheads should spit on this man... for trying to make people pay for live shows.. track by track for .99 on iTunes... to "see how loyal our fans are"

What about at PNC Bank Arts Center in NJ?

dude that's not cool. the camden rep is beat, it's like any other city, there are good areas and bad. down by the waterfront, it's beautiful and generally safe if you have a brain in your head. i live fairly close to camden, and know a lot of people living there. they do there best to get ahead and are really great folks, and people perpetuating that rep about camden does no good for anyone.

go to the shows, have a good time, don't wonder off into the streets at night looking for trouble, and keep it positive....

yeah really. Camden was named the most dangerous city in 2004 and 2005 but I agree with napoleaninrags, you just have to use your head and stay at the waterfront.

Down by the waterfront in Camden is nice. Seeing shows at the Tweeter Waterfront are awesome. I like how you can see the Philadelphia skyline across the river all lit up at night. I'll be there :D few more days !!

Camden isn't that bad. Although the PNC Bank Arts center (night after camden) had a great forest vibe to it. But checking out philly from the tweeter is always awesome when it's dark.

sorry East coast scares me! Can't answer definitively, but whatever the region considers a good venue (or simply historic such as Radio City, Madison Square, Boston Garden) will be a head choice.
