babysitting other peoples kids

I'm a live-in babysitter for a single mom...she has 2 boys aged 4 & 8 1/2 that drive me insane. They have a 22 yr old sister, but she has cerebal palsy and spends day in a wheelchair cuz she can't talk, walk or feed herself.....but she is actually my fave one in the family.

How do u get other people's kids to clean their room, eat lunch, and stop aggravating each other all the damn time....or having them erupt at you as if they declared world war 3?

I'm usually home 7 days a week without a break or a damn paycheck.

 

When I try to get my brother and sister to clean who are age 10 and 13 I usually make a game out of it. I make it like a race or I put some music on and we clean. I ask them nicely and sometimes its envetable that they won't do it and you'll lose your lid... But thats okay.

Reverse pyscology works well to ..."oh I bet you can;t do it."

 

Try keeping the two separate for a while...and spend time with each alone. Kids need attention and often that is what fights are about. Also, if kids are together too much they will completely drive each other and YOU crazy. Also, lots of physical activity will make them too tired to fight.

 

kids tend to listen to me... they think I am scary.... hahhaha

 

Tell them you're a friend of mine and, if they don't mind you, you have me come for a visit.
