Yeah, probably an undercover member of the bloods. The peace signs on the bandana are a dead giveaway.
I say all the hippies within a couple hour's driving distance from there get together and dress in as much tie-dye, smiley-laden, peace-sign-covered stuff as possible and wander the mall all day. Cause, you know...that'll show em...
I don't think they'd care, but I really don't see why people make a big deal out of something stupid. I mean... isn't there something better you could do with your time.
Well.. I mean a ten year old for one thing, but wtf. Some people ought to be beaten to near-death with a very large blue catfish.
Try a Hijab. If he did that to a Muslim woman wearing one, that would be 1) profiling and 2) offensive. Some Muslim women believe that men shouldn't see their arms, legs, necks, chest, and hair. You know, that could have been the situation now that I think of it. They didn't say HOW she was wearing it, but that she was wearing it. It could have been tied under her chin (I was a 10 year old girl once, I did crazy fashion stuff), rather than at the nape of her neck...it could have looked "muslim". Either way, he's a jerk. There really can't be a valid reason for a girl wearing a bandana - let alone one with peace signs, happy faces and flowers. OMG! WTF! OFENSIVE!!1!11!!one!!!! OWND!!1!!eleventy!!!!
I think they did the right thing, those are gang colors/insignia's round my parts. That 10 year old girl was likely buying clothes with drug money, Bravo mall securtity, they dont get paid $8.50 an hour for nothing.
This is the mid-west though, not the ghetto's of NYC/Boston/LA. Not to say there isn't gang activity elsewhere, but for chrissake...
I didn't say it didn't exist. There are "gangs" in my town. We call them aggers, the farmhands. They have nothing better to do at night but hang out in front of McDonald's and cause trouble. But the aggers of our small town (pop. 3,000+) don't quite compare to the krypts or bloods of Hartford/NYC. It's all relative on where you are at. I am just saying that I highly doubt that small town KA has a high occurance of deadly gangs that would cause a security guard be worried about a bandana.
My buddy worked mall security... He works something technical for telus now, but he loved it. He said he would have kept at it if there was a career path. But he only loved it because it gave him a legitimate excuse to beat up indians.
