how successful will it be to hope to find a ride?

we were gonna rent a car but rentals are crazee expensive! sheesh. i know that busses from dia are accessable, but don't go to steamboat. i guess we'll just thumb it and hope for the best? i'm wondering which method of securing transport will prove most efficient. i'm comin from denver, but do not know the area at all. i imagine if we get to boulder (or prob just stay in denver) we'll find a ride somewhere...but where?

make a pretty sign with a car + $ + pretty rainbows and someone will pick you up. Many people will be going through denver. I wish you the best of luck!
