Is anyone going to dave at alpine valley in East Troy WI (8/8/04)? Well I am and after seeing String Cheese at the Rave in Milwaukee, I'm not sure if it will be as good. The thing I like about cheese is I can dance my ass off no matter what they play. dave doesn't seem like a shake your ass occasion. Can anyone relate, has anyone one seen dave in concert, what should I expect? Peace, Chazz http://nodeal00.tripod.com
It's unlikely that the DMB show you're going to will even come close to any Incidents. Cheese's musical abilities have not been tarnished by commercial influences as have Dave Matthew's Band. Also the atmosphere is so much better at a an incident. The crowd, the lot, the lights, the crazy dance moves. In many ways I think an incident is even more enjoyable than a Phish show. Also the venues they choose are always so well picked. The thing about Cheese is they are a hard working band. They do everything in their power to make sure that every Incident is a memorable one. Plus where else are you gonna get a chance to here an electric mandolin and someone who plays guitar like Nershi. Bottom line is that Cheese plays for the people. thats why you feel so great after a show. DMB plays to promote their new album or make some extra cash or something like that. Enjoy the show! peace
yeah, dave has completely sold out (more so than he already was..) he and trey are just like so damn commercial. i saw dave at bonnaroo, and all it was was a bunch of college fratties who thought they knew what jamming was. he sings too slow to dance to anything, i'm gonna be honest, i sat down the entire time on the grass and i couldn't see anythign and it didn't really bother me one bit. dave and string cheese do not even compare... i'd save my money and wait until someone better comes around.
I cant stand dave matthews band.. im sorry... Im sure they've got songwriting talent... but put me in a room with dave matthews and I'll be the only one leaving...
I liked some of Dave's music in the beginning but then I saw him at Bonnaroo this year. Well yeah I did show up late, but he was suppose to play till 12. Well Dave ended up dipping out on all of us at 11pm because he was so wasted and couldn't go on. He had a really good night to rock out and he blew it.
he does get drunk and ruin shows alot...but when he's actually sober he can really put on a good show
i though Dave sold out for awhile, but after going to two shows this summer, it is safe to say he is back. i have been to 11 shows and on oct 6th, i will go to number 12. he tends to do a handful of new songs which is just filler for his huge hits. he usually closes with watchtower, stay, what would you say....or if u r lucky hell do his warehouse/dancing nancies closer. i finnally got to hear seek up which was really cool, but i am still waiting on Say Goodbye, lie in our Graves, and Best of Whats Around. if you're extremely lucky, he wont play any everyday songs (highley unlikely), especially I Did It....this is the epitome of Dave selling out!
