I am testing a theory that my body is confused and doesn't understand the difference between needing food and needing sleep. Sometimes when I feel hungry I'm actually tired and when I'm tired I'm actually hungry or dehydrated so I'm trying to keep my body away during the day and asleep through the night. I devised a course of action, which involves eating something the minute I awaken (Some time between 6-8AM) I ate a piece of fruit and drank 16 ounces of water at 6:45am. (I got up at 6:30-7am so I went back to sleep for an hour.) When I got up it was 8:00 and at 8:45 I ate a veggie frozen dinner that was a Santa Fe beans and rice mixture and drank another 16 ounce glass of water. I left the house at 9:15 am and after riding and talking for a while I arrived and the Ukrops and bought some nuts for later. I went to the dollar store and got breakfast bars (Apple cinnamon six count for $1.00) I ate one and drank 33 ounces of rasberry-flavored water. I also had a bag of chips and a single size serving of cream cheese.) When I get to the house I want to eat a normal dinner and drink 16 ounces of water before 5 pm and eat my nuts about 9pm. (Tomorrow I will try to make my last snack about 6pm and dinner before 4 pm.) I'm hoping that this will help my weight problem. Right now I eat twice a day the first time at 10 am or later and the last meal at 4pm to 6pm. (It depends how long it takes to cook.) I'm going to make veggie my mid day snack because I don't eat enough of them and make the snack bar my second meal before I leave the house. Tell me what you think and I'll let you know my progress in about a month.
Well, if it works for you. But if you think that your body is depraved of sleep or whatnot, you should try to get 8 hours of sleep at night, it's what's healthy. Divide your meals into 3 meals instead of snacking all the time. It sounds like what you're doing is eating all the time, and sometimes quite sugary things at that. If you made it a point of eating 3 full meals a day with your required servings of veggies, dairy, etc, and killed your hunger pangs between meals with water (because we often mistake hunger for thirst) than that might be a bit healthier too. just a thought.
Actually, it helps when you read the whole post. lol. I was, until today eating twice a day. (I even cut it down to once a day last year for awhile but I didn't mention that.) I'm trying to see if eating small snacks during the day will help my metabolism and help me not to be so sleepy during the day. I also said that I'm drinking lots of water and so far along with the sit-ups I did earlier I feel good. I a banana, 2 apple bars, a bag of chips and a small cream cheese 81 ounces of water, nuts and dinner. I'm doing this instead of eating: 2 begets with cheese, mayo and chips with cream cheese 49 ounces of water and a huge dinner. I think that breaking it up during the day will work better with my body.
They say you should eat six small meals a day for maximum nutrient benefit. Also, the average American is so dehydrated on a regular basis that they mistake their thirst for hunger pains. Just fyi.
Yeah, that's what I heard as well. I am fat but I have a very fast motabolism. I feel more energetic already. I want to lose weight and look sexy for a change. It just would make me happy to be sexy just once.
Good luck! A doctor in Boston is having really good luck with a "peanut butter diet." You eat sensible meals (either 3 larger or 6 mini) and drink lots of water. The only rule is, you eat one spoon of peanut butter 20-30 minutes before you eat anything else. and don't overstuff yourself. The protein and fat in the peanut butter plus the 20 minutes give your brain a chance to not feel so hungry when you start eating so you eat less. I've met two women who have had success with it. One was so heavy before she used a walker since her knees couldn't handle the weight. This other woman showed me her skin around her stomach...she had gone from almost 300 lbs to 140 in just over a year.
