im not familiar with the laws there, but im sure you'll probably be able to drink, seeing that most countries outside of us really are laid back about drinking. Weed tho, who knows. I could be wrong tho.

I looked around for you and found the drinking age is somewhere between 15 and 18, since theres no reliable information on it. It really depends on where you go to drink.

As for weed, I read that a guy was serving a 20 year sentence there for a small marijuana posession charge... so that might tell you something.

The tourist beureau (sp?) of the Cuban counselate might have the information you want.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be locked into a Cuban jail cell.

    a lo cubano

botella de ron y tabaco habano, singao! ;)

    no idea really

i'm not a great source of reliable information here - all i'm saying...even if a culture's attitude towards certain things (at least how it seems superficially...the details could be learned the hard way..see comments about cuban jail cells) seems to be more laid-back than at home (wherever that is...), treat the mentality with respect and just use your common sense to not get into unwanted situations

Been to Cuba several times, and here is what I can tell ya...

Drinking age... - well, over there they are more like suggestions..
Weed... when you get to the airport, and when you leave, you'll see they have Dogs that will walk around, and sniff EVERYONES luggage... don't be caught with anything!

The island itself is just mind-blowing... its an incredible vacation... lots of amazing things to do.. you won't need any herb... just leave it for the week or two your gone, and when you get back, your tolerance will give you an extra special buzz...

PS: When your there, please make sure you spend at least one full day scuba diving… Diving out there is amazing… you won’t be sorry you blew away a day doing it.

cuba....you lucky bastard, you can forget the weed....a tropical paradise with good rum and some of the best cigars in the world....good coffee, too.....really weed is unnecessary.....dont end up in jail, you can live the high life in a law abiding way very easily.....

no weed does NOT have to mean no indulgance....

not cubans, but i have 10 gurkha vintage robustos and 5 gurkha legends (don't know the size) coming in the mail today....the 5 pack was free with the ten cigars from the vintage line....its a hell of a good deal...gurkha's one of the best brands around, and the legend series is supposed to be great...actually, the five pack on its own would cost a good deal more than the ten vintages.

so if you like some noncuban cigars, too, pm me and i'll give you a link to the merchant

    {damn, nevermind, i just noticed that the offer is sold out by now....this company offers some rediculously good deals sometimes, but they aren't usually around for long, it seems...}

High Times had an article a few months back. Trichome Tech Invades Cuba. Think it was the December issue, can't remember now. They said that the possession penalties are outrageous. Like someone else here said 20 years. Too many charges and they'll kill you. He was able to smuggle in 300 kryptonite seeds, 80 grams of trichomes and 2 huge muffins coated with cannabutter. No idea how he made it past customs. They had the muffins in their carry on which he ate on the plane - both of them. The trichomes were inside of caplets in a bottle of nutritional supplement caplets and the seeds he mixed in with his trail mix. Pretty ingenious if you ask me. Seems like the trics would set the dogs off though. Must have gotten really really lucky.

i'm sure everyone also knows that travel between the us and america is severely restricted, and almost nobody can do it legally. you can sidestep the rules sometimes by going to another country first, then leaving from there for cuba.

still, its not an issue unless you buy cuban cigars or rum or something in another country (most often canada or carribean destinations) and bring them back in knowingly or otherwise...

very few americans get the chance to be in cuba at any point in their lives, unless they are cuban immigrants to the united states.

I note that the OP is from Canada, the traditional path of Cuban goods into the US.

he IS canadian, which is why i dont know why the usa was ever even brought up. no, there isn't travel back and forth with some very occasional exceptions made for the press and stuff like that....and cubans aren't allowed to come here, either, but once they're on dry land on us soil we can't send them back.
