Please respond immediately and forward as appropriate. According to news sources and authorities close to the case, Grenora, North Dakota, resident Kim Lester was arrested on June 1 after sheriff's deputies discovered that diseased animals were suffering without veterinary care on Lester's property, where they also found the carcasses of eight horses and three dogs. Forty-five surviving horses and cows were allegedly confined to tiny pens with water just out of reach, and numerous birds and as many as 60 dogs—inwhat some have called a puppy mill—were reportedly found crammed inside small buildings, without food or water. Alarmingly, none of the animals was taken into custody. Instead, Northwest District Judge Gerald Rustad reportedly ordered Lester to find new homes for all the animals by June 6 and to notify authorities of each animal’s whereabouts. When PETA spoke with local humane officials on June 7, none of the 60 dogs remained on Lester’s property, although apparently only 18 had made it to local animal shelters. The remaining 42 dogs and 24 horses were reportedly missing. As of June 29, humane officials claim that authorities still have not forced Lester to identify the location of these missing animals. Please contact local officials and urge them to aggress on this case. Ask them to immediately take into protective custody any animals who are currently in Lester's custody and to launch an investigation to determine the whereabouts of the missing animals. Remind them that animal hoarders are often repeat offenders for whom official intervention is required in order to prevent future offenses. Impolite correspondence works against our efforts. I'm sorry how much of their donation money is PeTA planning on giving to aid this investigation? They are quick to pounce on small towns and harass them about their slow progress when going after animal abuse but they ignore the fact that it takes money to do this stuff. Half the story is missing and I dislike biased sources. Could you please start providing unbiased sources instead of spamming the forums with petitions and PeTA letter campaigns?
If you click on the part that says "news sources" it send you to an article in the Winston Herald that tells the whole story. Also, isn't spamming when you post the same post over and over? At least, that is what I learned in my INCREDIBLY BORING computer lit class last fall. And technically, everyone is biased against something.
