dicided to give it second go with the super glue..well I glued my left index finger to middle finger this time.. but the good news is my Iron Maiden Edie bobble head doll finally got his arm glued back on .....and i'm never bying another bottle of super glue again, thoes fingers are glued together hard core, the acitone isnt doing anything. oh, that patch of cloth is still stuck to my chest from last night, it was an interesting conversation peice in the changing room at work today.
methal ethel ketone (mek for short) is the usual solvent. though for safety, health and environmental reasons it may no longer be available. once it gets in fabric acc don't come out. you just have to live with that little hard spot in the middle of your soft shirt or in my case, on the knee of my good pants. on your skin, your skin oils will eventualy loosen it. one reason it doesn't work permenet on everything is that the usual sort of acc, often sold as 'super glue', doesn't flex. and if whatever it's holding togather does, often enough, the adhesion will fail. also it works best in very small amounts. a smaller amount will actualy glue better then a large amount because of the way it works. i use a version of acc called zap a gap that has liquid chemical fillers that help it work on less then perfectly machined surfaces. acitone solvent and nail polish remover as mentiond can also help debond acc. =^^= .../\...
