Hey gals! I was wondering if maybe any of you wonderful folks might have a suggestion for my little problem... I really want to wear skirts, especially how that it's roasting, but whenever I do my thighs rub together, sweat, and end up chaffing (which is quite uncomfortable, verging on painful) I've read about a, singular product that might help but it's in the states only and not at my local drug store... and short of wearing hose (which I haaaaaaaaaaate doing) I can't think of any possible ways to remedy this. I really want to wear a cute skirt out tonight, or sometime in the future stupid thighs, how dare you exist! Erm, anyways... any suggestions would be super great
Use gold bond powder or baby powder or something. It will make the friction smoother and cause less chaffing.
There is a pair of short-like things called "Spankz" that can be bought in lingerie and plus size clothing stores. They're made of the same material as pantyhose, but are only about mid-thigh length. They're very comfy and not hot at all. I had three pair before I lost some weight. Or you can make your own -- buy a good thick pair of tights (not hose, tights -- hose will roll up too much) and cut the legs off. Use the shorts as "Spankz" and you're good to go!
are you shaved or natural? sometimes experimenting withthe opposite can help. powders help some. anything to stop the friction... including toning/weightloss if appropriate.
I shave, but I had the problem before I ever started shaving too I'm a little worried about some of the powders staining my clothes, and I really don't wanna wear any hose if avoidable (I sometimes get yeast infections when I wear hose) *grumbles* silly construction we have sometimes But thanks for your suggestions so far!
I would get a pair of those skinny, biker-like shorts. They wouldnt be too hot, and would solve the problem of chafing.
I have the same problem. Shaving is irrelevant in the problem area for me, as practically no hair grows there anyway. I've tried gold bond powder type stuff -- it lasts for maybe 20 min if you're not sweating too much. My solution was to go to buy a pair of those slimming shorts things, but in a large enough size that they're not slimming/constricting bloodflow. They do, in theory, have a cotton crotch, but who knows if that would be good enough for you (I don't seem to be terribly prone to yeast problems). Maybe try a pair of cotton men's boxer briefs? They'd probably leave you with a baggy bulge in the front, but if the skirt is loose and flowy, that shouldn't be a problem. So, what is this product you've heard of? I haven't heard of it, and would be interested in trying it if I can find it!
there is a ltion on the market just for chaffing. I think Summer's eve makes it or something. It goes on as liquid and makes a barrier to the wetness and sweating that causes chaffing. I sweat a lot and i wear a thin pair of shorts under skirts made from soy jersey that has ended all my troubles.
monistat makes it but I can't find it anywhere, hell, not even on their site (maybe I just suck at navigating though) *sigh* I guess I'll have to resort to the shorts solution. Not nearly as sexy, alas (which was the whole point of me wearing a skirt)
when I was pregnant, I took to wearing cotton bike shorts under my skirts instead of panties. They're like men's boxer briefs with a slightly longer leg and no fly. worked great!
