Two Ohio restaurants called Slim & Chubby's have set up "Lobster Zone" machines. This moronically cruel "game" can be found in some—but thankfully not many—drinking and eating establishments around the country. The arcade-style contraption allows patrons with a couple of bucks to waste to grab at and finally pluck out a lobster using a joystick-controlled crane with an attached claw. The lobsters are then boiled alive, cut up, and served to customers.

PETA has received several calls recently from complainants identifying themselves as horrified "one-time-only" patrons of the two Slim & Chubby's restaurants in Ohio. The callers report that they witnessed frightened lobsters who were languishing in a dirty tank and were repeatedly chased in the Lobster Zone machine.

Please call, write to, or visit both Slim & Chubby's restaurants and ask to speak with the manager. Tell the managers that living beings must not be treated like cheap boardwalk-game trinkets, and implore them to permanently get rid of this cruel contraption:

That's terrible. PETA will have a field day with this one.

Lobsters don't get frightened. They don't have the same brain capacity as higher animals. That's a biologically proven fact.

With that said, this isn't cool. If you are going to have a lobster tank, have a lobster tank...not a game where lobsters may or may not get removed from the machine whenever someone can afford to play it.

I'm not sure about that. All animals know when they are in danger, or being preyed upon. It's instinct. They might not know exactly what is going on, but they know something is wrong. This is very sad..

Lobsters are, to the best of my knowledge, always cooked while still alive...

so are we going to go after all Lobster shacks next? Ma and Pa's Lobster Shack in Eastassover, Maine... beware.....

Yeah I dont see much of a differance between this game and going to a restaurant where you pick out your own lobster. In both cases they still end up on your plate.

With that said, I missed the Shrimp Feast at Red Lobster. I'm bummed.

i have to agree that even if they still end up on your plate, they should still be given respect as they are, afterall losing their lives so somebody can have a meal
i DO NOT agree with them being cooked alive, if they do not experience fear, im pretty damn sure they feel pain, They should be given a quick death, and not a long painful one.
I think they should be killed quickly, and respectfully, and then everybody is happy, no?
