What could be the reason for that???? I've already had a grilled cheese sandwich and I just ate a bowl of those instant noodles....

What am I lacking in my diet to make me eat all these carbs... I hope I'm done now.

I've eaten more ALREADY today that I have the past week and it's only 1:15!!!!

I love carbs...if I could live on anything, it would be carbs. As long as you don't mix it with protein, like red meat, it's not as bad for you as you think.

    Carbs are basically complex sugars

Enriched carbs (white bread, insta noodles) break down to quickly, so you don't get the kind of nutrition you need over a longer perood of time.

If you eat more whole grain carbs, you'll feel fuller longer.

protein and cards go together. (Hamburger and fries) If you don't eat protein your hair and nails won't grow right. (I gave up beef 13 years ago and my hair has been a mess ever since.) You need proteins, animal proteins but you also need veggi proteins. If you eat 10 tens the veggis than you do the meat then you're ok. It will make you not want so much carbs. (Eat the veggis first so you won't try to eat a 10 ounce steak and 100 ounces of string beans lol.) 3 ounces of meat a day is fine. [IMG]

Ok, don't laugh at my choice of pictures. (I thought it was a cow at first.)

I'm saying, carbs in combination with proteins...eaten within the same time period is bad for your body. Hamburgers and fries? That's a terrible example...the worst kind of foods you can eat...let alone eating them together. Of course you need protein, but eating protein and carbs together spells weight gain.

Not really, my cousin has eaten the two together for years and has never had a weight problem until now.(She has lost too much weight.) The trick is to eat a combination of the 3. If you eat carbs alone then you'll eat them all day. (Take it from an expert I'm a chipoholic lol.) If you eat small portion of each then your matabolism stays high. It also keeps you from eating too much because you have a variety. The real trick to loosing and maintaining the weight is water. My cousin will drink 6 to 8 glasses of water with her meal. She ate too budy! She's about 5'5 110 normally. (I'm guessing) No flab or hanging skin and she's my ma's first cousin so that tells you how good that is for her. No I'm not trying to say I know everything but I had a grandma that ate starch, greens, meat milk water cereal and salad everyday and she lived 95 years. 88 extremely healthy (until her fall) and 7 years in decline. She was driving until then and had renewed her licence at 85 and had been driving for 75 years.

i truly don't understand some of the diets people try to go on.

you can't just cut out an entire food group and expect to be healthy, whether it helps you lose weight or not. hell, meth will help you lose weight, but its surely a bad idea to use it for weight loss......

cutting out all carbohydrates is a bad idea for most people. there are some people who for health reasons should eat very little to no carbs, but for the majority of humans roughly 40-50% of your caloric intake should be from carbohydrates.

as has been mentioned, the best would be things like whole grain foods.

if you eat bread, never eat white bread. its low on flavor and low on nutrition. wheat bread, rye bread, oat bread, anything that has all or most of the grain in it is better for you than your average loaf of sunbeam.

if you eat rice, eat brown rice. whole grain millet is a terriffic substitute for rice.

make sure you get your protein, too, but load up on non-animal protein. while i have a weakness for cheeses and yogurt, i stay away from milk, cream, and such for the most part. milk is actually not very good for you - its designed to be nutritious for calves, not adult humans. try soy milk (in moderation - its almost as high fat as whole milk but far more nutritious and tastey....not to mention easier on the stomach). eat a lot of beans. lentils in general (and one of my favorites, red lentils, specifically) are very inexpensive, tastey, nutritous, and versatile. same goes for chick peas. whole grains and beans are very important in a healthy diet.

when you eat meat, you should eat it sparingly in most cases, and you should generally eat leaner, higher protein meats. fish is the best for you. second best is poultry, which is more versatile than fish. red meat, pig meat, and anything greasy like sausages, should generally be a special treat rather than a daily indulgance.

make sure you eat lots of vegetables (particularly green veggies and stuff with a good amount of fiber)

instead of drinking soda pop, have a glass of tea, fruit juice, or water. if you like it (i love it) V8 is a great way to get a lot of nutrition. its practically a vegetable soup. btw, even if you dont like drinking it it makes for a wonderful soup base.

don't eat much boxed food. make food with actual ingredients rather than a few foodstuffs and a handful of dangerous sounding chemicals.

    NEVER eat fast food.

make sure you're active. you don't have to go running or lift weights or play sports even....just do little things like taking stairs instead of elevators, going for walks almost every day, and so on.

your physical health also reflects your mental health. unhappiness rooted in work, personal relationships, or mental entropy can manifest itself physically in a number of ways. read instead of watching tv sometimes, make time to converse with people about whats on your mind, do everything you can to better yourself mentally as well as physically. if you feel good in your mind you're much more likely to feel and look good in your body.

maintaining a healthy lifestyle cannot include such drastic measures as constantly changing your diet, or eliminating whole groups of food from your diet. thats not how humans are made to work. just eat in moderation, eat healthier foods, and make sure you do things to burn calories and keep your mind sharp from time to time......

it astonishes me how many people go in for atkins and similar anti-carb diets. it can really harm your body.

(btw, if you like to drink wine or beer with your dinner, its a good idea to reduce or eliminate the bread or grains from your meal....both are high in carbs to begin with and both -assuming their of good quality- have some nutrition and health benefits to offer. red wine and unfiltered beers in particular can be very good for you in moderation. if you want to get drunk but reduce your caloric intake, go for liquor either straight, in fizzy water, or in diet pop....marijuana is calorie free and not nearly as bad for your body as heavy alcohol consumption or smoking tobacco, so it may be a good choice for the partier who wants to be a bit more health conscious....)

theres really no trick to being healthy, and some people simply ARE built larger than others. but cut out junkfood, or find ways to make it more nutritious. for example, i used to eat a lot of things like cheetos and doritos....but now instead i'll make some gaucamole from avacados, chilli pepper (or tobasco sauce), garlic powder, and salt, and then eat them with plain corn chips...its tastier, more filling, and more nutritious than something like junk food.

indian food is largely vegetarian and spicy, and a couple indian cookbooks should be able to give you good ideas for some healther meals than steak and potatoes or hamburgers or something.

in a lot of mexican or italian recipes beans in some form can be substituted for red meat. bean tacos are great, for example, and so is bean or spinache lasagna....

you certainly shouldnt eat all carbs, but you shouldn't eliminate them entirely. it just isnt healthy

but people definitely seem to pay more attention to what they eat rather than what they drink. i work at a coffeeshop and you wouldn't believe how much whole milk, whipped cream, and sugar people get in just one drink sometimes. in this instance you should go for regular coffee with a little soy or skim milk for creamer instead of lattes, cappuccinos and such....

I sometimes eat a lot too. Mabye try a strong cup of cofee, or chai tea, or a Red Bull. Those things sometimes help me curb my appetite for tasty food.

    Good Luck
