If you've been watching the news, it should be pretty obvious what inspired this. As always, critiques are welcome!

    On War

    Why do we bleed?

Is it simply a reaction when

the spearhead of anger parts the barrier of our flesh?

    Perhaps our body itself mourns,

Though our countenances give no reply.

We have taught our eyes to look, but not see.

Our tongues speak, but say nothing.

Our ears blend the chorus of agony,

Since white noise is less troublesome.

All the while, bodies grieve the death of their owners.

The corporal suits don’t understand valiance or martyrdom.

All they know is the loss of the soul they were draped over.

Some gush from too many insults,

Others are shredded beyond recovery by their kin.

The sun commiserates with the bodies, donning red each evening.

As its morning rays yawn, the sun surveys our world.

Another crimson day arrives, more suits on the ground,

More souls washed away by their tears.

Man, good poem, sad and frightening events. I've been keeping watch on these happenings too, and it just pisses me off. I have nothing staked in it, save what all humanity and perhaps all life does... what with a belligerant, arrogant Israel with nukes and the small minded, hateful and constant poking from the Arabs and Palestinians, and their Iranian backers, who knows where this could go. We all need to start praying seriously for peace, since in general there's not much else we can do. This world, so beautiful, can make me feel so sad sometimes.

Now, back to the poem. I really liked these lines, they really say it well:

Our tongues speak, but say nothing.
Our ears blend the chorus of agony,
Since white noise is less troublesome.

also, in line 11 did you mean to say corporate? And in line did you mean loss?
