I don't hate any words cause they're jus tools 4 an artist. It's the ppl that use them that piss me off.
3 pages for one word? That's freakin' amazing'! werd Now that I am actually thinking about it.. I believe that it has no real place in litterary circles. If peeps are going to go out of their way to compliment or crtique someone...That's being like.. amazingly lazy! I can't handle the peer pressure. Please, don't.. stop... ahhhhhhhhhhhh.
i also love the word dude and use it extensively. oh my, i'm learning my vocabulary is offensive to many...
yeah amazing is used way too much i like the original meaning of the word awesome though, like if it wasnt said a lot, and actually means what it should.
i have developed a bit of an aversion to the word amazing--mostly because it is SO overused by people who tend to over-enunciate it at the same time, making it doubly annoying. ridiculous is also quite overused, but i'm guilty of saying that too much as well. i don't use amazing all that much, i prefer the word fabulous.
I like the word amazing! I can't understand why most of you dislike it so much...I'm Italian, and i don't have many occasions to talk with American people, but this word sounds absolutely fantastic! Could you pleas explain me in not too complicaated words why it's so overused where you live??I can't know it,because ''here'' no one speaks english!
The english language has many words that mean the same thing, and it just happened to be that amazing got used more than the other ones. It got so over-used that it became cliche, or if you don't know what cliche is, it basically lost its meaning.
my favourite hate word at the moment is "basically" a word i used frequently and with gay abandon with all who would listen to me,oh yes i was the big man then, that is everyone else started using it. sometimes i mutter it when alone (first sign of madness) but its not just the same anymore it sounds hollow and has all the familiarity and regret of a picture of an old girlfriend that dumped you.
The word "amazing" is theatrical. You say something like, "Amazing, never saw such a thing in my whole life!" And that's always nonsense. It has always rained, there have always been floods, there have been summers full of heat before...
i've actively omitted the word "amazing" from my life ever since high school. there are very few things recently that i have been amazed by, but i think i'm saving it for a special occasion...one that hasnt happened yet. one that deserves it. preferably one by myself, when no one can hear me say it
I cringe every time I hear "amazing". I started noticing it when I was watching America's Next Top Model. That's the only adjective they ever used, then I noticed commercials and everywhere else it was getting sooooo overused. Can't people come up with a better adjective? There are so many more out there to pick from! Why????????
