i met an oppossum tonight. he was walking along the edge of the top of a low chainlink fence. he didn't freek out and try to run away. he even let me touch him and say hi whithout freeking out. it was a trip. i left him/her be to go on his/her way. just said hi. made me feel better about life and living to be able to do so. just seeing him/her walking along the top of my fence would have done that. but i had to walk past where he was to go out and check my mail. i thought for sure he'd sensibly freek and jump off and try to hide somewhere like a cat would, but he was walking along ballancing where even a cat would have had a hard time doing so. he was totaly cool and totaly sure footed. it was amazing. =^^= .../\...
that is soooo neat! i'm jealous i want to pet an opossum. i've only ever had them hiss at me. i always thought they were scary. yet my friend had one as a pet once and she swore it was the gentlest creature ever. . . great experience themnax
