my neighbor refused to toke with me because he was scared about the medical risks. i showed him multiple sources saying that weed is basically harmless but he said that smoking weed was against his religion. hes methodist and he says that smoking weed is like gluttony. i didnt see the connection but i have to respect his relegious decesions. does anyone else kno someone who finds it immoral to smoke weed?

I don't see anything immoral about it. I'm doing what I want to do, and that's all that matters.

I know alot of bible-thumpers who think alot of stuff, but I don't think it's immoral, so I don't care.

    ^^^ It's the 21st century actually.

But I think the subject of morals is quite open to debate. Who's to say whats right or whats wrong?

" The hemp plant is one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind" created and blessed by God on the third day of creation, "and God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:12) He gave hemp for people to use with our free will.

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31) The Bible predicts some herb's prohibition. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall … speak lies in hypocrisy … commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (Paul: 1 Timothy 4:1-3)

The Bible speaks of a special plant. "I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more." (Ezekiel 34:29) A healing plant. On either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare 12 manner of fruits, and yielding her fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. (Revelations 22:1-2) A gift from God. "

It's not immoral, but I know heads who spead all the money they have on greens. That's never good.

That being said, if your friend doesn't want to smoke weed, then back off and let him do his own thing.

id say give him the option to smoke, let him think about it, and if he decides to go ahead with it then thats great, but if he doesnt want to, respect that and its his choice. also that means more weed for u so happy toking :)

the annoying thing is that i think his main problem is that he thinks its bad for him and no matter how many sites i show him he wont believe that its not bad for him.

ok smoking weed if you're in america is technically immoral when talking from a christian perspective, because you are braking the law. The bible never mentions anything about not smoking weed, and i personally believe God put this plant on earth for a reason (not to mention gave us THC receptors for a reason), but as long as it is against the law then Christians are not supposed to break it.
The only time that the bible says we should break the law is if it is making you sin, which opens up a whole different conversation

i personally don't believe much about the christian faith, but i believe marijuana grows and, as we have used many many of the earth's resources to our advantages, it grows with a purpose to bond with humans. It can be used to smoke recreationally, medicinally, as food, as building material (hemp) - fuck, even birds eat hemp seeds. full of fibre. there's nothing bad about the natural plant, it's just the immoral part in smoking it is abusing it - smoking it each part of every day, going mental when you've just smoked the last of your stash and you know there's none coming in the near future, losing track of goals in life to get high and have a buzz, overall - psychological dependence. the immorality of smoking cannabis is getting caught up in the loop. if you can hack that, then you're pretty much sorted.

this is why i cant take stoner arguments serious 90% of the time... "it says no where in the Quoran/bible to not smoke weed." i dont know shit about the Quoran but that guy just owned you and said that it does say that and I know that in the Bible it says something along the lines of "do not fill your mouth with smoke like a chimney."
