This is a difficult one. Traditionally, losing ones virginity means having penetrative sex, but this definition excludes non heterosexual (particularly lesbian) relationships (not all gay men have penetrative sex with each other so this definition does not necessarily include them either). So many people might say that lesbians can lose their virginity though oral sex alone, but straight people can have oral sex and still be considered virgins. I have also heard of girls having anal sex before vaginal sex so they can stay "virgins". So the question might be asked, is virginity a heterosexual construct? Can one loose their virginity through non-heterosexual sexual activity?

Someone once said that you are having sex when "somebody comes". So is masturbation sex? I sortof think it should be. Who better to lose your virginity to than to yourself? But other than that it's hard for me to decide what the "deciding factor is". I think I lost mine to my first serious boyfriend... even though we didn't have intercourse. Is that crazy?
Virginity is overrated, usually not %100 qualifiable, and means little in the grand sheme of a person's life (this is totally my opinion - not trying to make up facts). Hymen=the only physical sign that a girl is a virgin. Rough sports or masturbation can break it. Not a really good indicator, huh? Virginity is in your head. I think lesbians who have never had a hard cock in them are still technically virgins...If you want to go Christian on the def. then virginity is lost when a man penetrates a woman. The idea of male virginity is not touted even in the Bible. Now...being chaste is a different story. Abstinance is supposed to occur until marriage. One can be chaste and not be a virgin...but not the otherway around. Ok, I'm loosing myself here. I'll post again if I think of something less confusing. LOL.
You loose your virginity when you no longer consider yourself a virgin. What other people think has NO bearing on whether you are or not. You have lost your virginity when you no longer feel like a virgin. What other people think has NO................!
