All my classmates make fun of me because I don't like hurting animals.

I just don't get why some people are sick enough to love torturing and killing poor little animals. It makes me so miserable to think that there are people like that. And I just can't believe that some of my classmates make fun of me just because I like animals and don't like to talk about hurting them. Who else feels the same way I do? Or is in a similar situation?

 

Never compromise your principles, you couldn't live with yourself if you did. Cruelty in any form is wrong, whether it be to humans or animals. Ignore them, they're just trying to wind you up!

 

They might try to make fun of you but they are the morons. Cruel morons at that! Anyone with any hint of compassion and kindness does not want to see an animal get hurt. They are idiots. But they may be trying to just wind you up like the other poster said.....ignore them.

 

I agree. It'll blow away once something more interesting happens.

 

Ive been through something similar, i cried because we were on a trip, and we went to a pet store as a class, and all the animals were in really tiny cages and they looked really sad, it was so overwhelmingly crap in that shop that i cried, and everyone laughed and said i was being stupid, maybe i was, and i was missing my own dog, which made it worse, but people can be very cruel, I decided not to care what they thought, if they think its funny to laugh at animals being unfairly treated, then they have serious issues, not me, and not you.

 

Thanks so much guys. Your right I should just ignore them. Its nice to know there are others like me who actually have compassion and kindness towards animals.

Sorry, all due respect but I never bought these stories about how "everyone picks on me becuz I wuv de aneemals"

I was a card-carrying, vegetarian member of PeTA in high school and was NEVER picked on. I came from a meat/potato-eating family who likes to roast pigs on a spit and I never got picked on or put down by them...quite the opposite actually.

If you are getting picked on it's probably because you act like a whiny, emo, little, bitch not because of your particular beliefs.

If you nag, lecture, and call people murderers for eating a bologna sandwich..you are gonna get picked on. If you break down in ridiculous and immature tears upon entering a pet store, you are gonna get picked on.

Seriously, no one really cares if you love animals or not. They.Don't.Care. However, they will hone in on your behavior and attack for that. Solution? Change your behavior if you don't like how people respond to it.
