Don't know if I spelled that right. Anyway, We hadn't been there in quite few years. It is just over the Wisconsin border, just north of Chicago. Brought the kids (except Sunshine, who was too cool to go, and then afterward wished she had gone) and my sister. Lots of nice hippies dressed in weird garb. Moon (16) was in her element. We had to drag her out. I have a funny picture of three of my kids in a hanging cage outside the Dungeon. Lots of good food and fun. Good Mideveal music, too. Some really cute knights at the Jousting Contest. The Mud Showe was good, too. I wondered if anyone else had a Fair like this near them or went to the one in Wisconsin?
You were close Renaissance! Yes, I perform at a few each year as a musician(Irish flute) But you don't see to many Hippies. It's all out Ren or nothing. There are fun and great food. December
I have been to the one in Bristol (IL,WI) faire. I really like going. I haven't been this year yet but I think we will be going next weekend. I love looking at all the handmade stuff for sale. And the dresses are amazing! I sew and I love looking at all those fancy schmancy dresses.
Hey, erika, that is the one we go to! Did see a lot of hippies, too. The bikers, for some reason, tend to dress like Vikings. My baby was afraid of them. I said, "Honey, don't be afraid, it's just a lil ole biker." The Vikings seemed to think this was really amusing.
Yep, that's the Bristol Renn Faire (Kenosha, WI). The mud show is indeed awesome, but I'm a big fan of the jousting tournament. Gotta love those sexy knights! Medieval Times (Schamburg, IL) is another must.
I go to the one in Sterling Forest, NY every year with my mom. It's our little tradition. We love to check out all the beautiful handmade jewelry and clothing. I see a couple hippies there every year, but I usually see people dressed in more Goth type costumes, or the traditional Ren. faire garb. A lot of the shows are pretty cool. I love to watch the bellydancers, and the mud show.
OOOO the Knights! There was one particularlly hot one last Saturday. When we got home, I uploaded the pix from our dig camera, and there he was! Up close. I didn't take a pic of him. Seems my dh was talking to him in the morning about his horse, and got a pic. He didn't know he was MY knight at the time. Gotta love my dh! One of my dds has a birthday is a few weeks, she wants to go to Medieval Times. It isn't that far, and I think it would make a nice Sweet 16 Party.
