it's not an intoxicant, it's completely non-toxic. thc naturally binds with receptors in the brain to produce the high... they ain't gotta do shit man, listen they are in control. how can i put this, in simple terms we are their guinea pigs - they will set laws, rules, lifestyles - socitey. it's all a government creation, they have it ordered and they run the machine. if they don't want it legalized then that's how it's staying until THEY agree to legalize it, and if that's never then we know what real bastards they are.
The government made weed illegal based on quite a few things. Alot of ignorant people will say oh its bad or whatever but there is a saying that in order to overcome being ignorant sometimes it is wise to know some history. For one, weed was made illegal because of racism against hispanic migrants. In Texas and the Southwest they blamed marijuana on mexicans for seducing white women and the word marijuana has negative connotations towards latinos. If you look at the word marijuana vs cannabis, marijuana looks more negative and it is a spanish word unlike cannabis which is Greek. The cotton farmers helped make hemp illegal fearing theyd lose out on their cotton industry. The same applies to synthetics. Hemp is alot better but the synthetics dont want something natural to compete with. The US government knows that alcohol is easy to produce and is addictive. Cannabis on the other hand is natural and a plant which anyone could grow. It isnt hard to grow since it is a weed and who the hell is going to buy from the store when you can grow your own? Alcohol is alot harder to produce. It would be hard to make money off something that anyone can grow themselves. That is another reason why it is illegal. I agree it makes them more money arresting innocent people for marijuana, but the stupid police should focus more on meth and not pot.
i already knew a lotta info about industrial hemp and the point about alcohol is pretty logic, but as for your first part of information i never knew that. but it's informing, where did you get this?? can you provide any links?
http://blogs.salon.com/0002762/stories/2003/12/22/whyIsMarijuanaIllegal.html The comments are also worth reading.
I got the point about racism from watching the history channel titled: "Illegal Drugs.'' It also makes a point about that in this book i read. Drug induced highs were blamed on minorities for seducing/raping white women. As dumb as it sounds that is what the history channel stated.
The other reason it became illegal was because hemp paper was way cheaper to make and much more economical than wood pulp paper. The bigwigs in the wood pulp industry had some connections in the government... and bada bing bada boom its pretty much illegal. At first it wasn't illegal altogether, you had to have a license to grow/use it. The problem though was that they didnt give licenses to anyone!
well originally weed wasnt actually illegal either. you could buy weed if you had a stamp. they did this cause in the 30s they knew that outright prohibition was against the constitution, so they said you go to a govt place with weed in hand and they will give you a stamp. only problem was, they made almost no stamps and to get the stamp you had to incriminate yourself. thats what Timothy Leary pointed out when he got arrested. they revised the law and now its just plain old illegal.
like jim morrison once said whoever controls the media controles the mind and the people at the top who dont want it legalized controle the media
Would it have to be a bill in congress to legalize? Or would the FDA just have to approve it for consumption without the DEA making a stink?
The Herb will be legal when when the U.S. returns to a Constitutional Republic, and 'big corporation' will be shown for what it really is: Corporatocracy. There are many pressure points on decriminalization: LEAP or Law Enforcement Against Prohibition yes really Alchohol-Cannabis Equalization Religious right (see constitution) Hemp Farming hemp is amazing Medical of course Kinky Friedman! and how many people smoke it? In southeast asia there's a country that will execute you for trafficking it...sooooo I think it could be legalized with a concerted effort.
Sounds like a lot of you don't know what has been going on the last 8 yrs. Many states have passed laws with voting and over a 3rd of all states have Decriminalization: Decriminalization: The state has decriminalized marijuana to some degree. Typically, decriminalization means no prison time or criminal record for first-time possession of a small amount for personal consumption. The conduct is treated like a minor traffic violation. Many states have Medical marijuana: Medical marijuana: This state has medical marijuana laws enacted. Modern research suggests that cannabis is a valuable aid in the treatment of a wide range of clinical applications. These include pain relief, nausea, spasticity, glaucoma, and movement disorders. Marijuana is also a powerful appetite stimulant and emerging research suggests that marijuana's medicinal properties may protect the body against some types of malignant tumors, and are neuroprotective. For more information see NORML's Medical Marijuana section. All these states total 36 with either medical or have some level decriminalization . We are now back to where we were when Jimmy Carter was about to push pot to get legal until one of his boys got busted for coke so not to look weak on drugs he dropped it. We have removed the damage from this because at the time many were dropping the law and making OK until this happen. Now were are back on the ground where we were in 78 and that's a good thing. Voting changed a lot in late 70s and late 90s. I feel this is a test by the USA government to start doing nation wide . All the medical clubs states are a test. Now look in California 140 pot clubs yet the other 9+ have total 30 we have 140+ and now some are coffee shops too. I looked into how much the clubs pay look at this each club in California pays 20k a permit The rents are 3-4 times higher than for normal store $100,000+ in sales tax Also they have a lot of other stuff they pay into. So it looks like in few years these will became for everyone not just sick for now as controlled test. I just feel this way from what I read in the papers and hear at council meeting. They also looking at crime, the area change and more so dont get and smoke near a club it will hurt the cause.
I want all states like Alaska They set it to less than 4 oz in your residence or home is no penalty's TAKE A LOOK http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID=4522 or at least like 1Oz legal at home / 5 plants I be happy with that. we have weed clubs now 8yrs in California. Day after Prop 215 passed here 4 clubs were open!
