I usually try to keep a few healthy snacks on me but on occasion I will miss meals if I don't have anything suitable to munch. Would it be better to miss meals or to put junk into your body? Which would you do?
what does fast food nation have to do with this?by junk she doesn't necessarily mean eating mcdonald french fries and wendy's burgers...i think? i'd say it depends on the junk you mean. some regular potatoe chips or peanuts is probably better skipping a meal, becus at least you're giving your body a little something, to stay concentrated.i don't know, i would try not skip the meal but i know i would end up eating something. just try not to eat the really nasty stuff!! (like chicken mcnuggets or something)!
peanuts, in my book, count as a healthy snack. Any protein snack is good, fruit is good, they are fast, but aren't junk food. I think of that stuff filled with wheat and sugar as "junk" and personally can't and won't eat it. Anything overly processed or refined is not food. Anything with ingredients you don't know where it came from counts as junk, IMHO. For me, it makes me feel worse to eat that stuff than I feel when I skip a meal, the hungry grouchies aren't nearly as bad as the gluten grouchies or the sugar crash.
neither because the body needs proper fuel; i'd suggest rarely skipping as i'd hate to be hungry and also to feel bad if i gave in to energy depriving "mush"
Your car's running really, really low on gas, and you have 2 hours until the next gas station. Let's say for some reason, your car uses Premium, but the gas station right in front of you only has regular. Would you put in the regular to last you until the next station? Sooo sorry to use another car analogy But I would go for the "junk." You wouldn't do well on it all the time, but I would choose it compared to nothing. At least you're getting something to last you! I don't mean load up on burgers and fries and a milkshake every afternoon, but if your only option is to have nothing or something less healthy, I would choose the latter. At least your blood sugar won't spike too hard (missing meals means low blood sugar, then a spike when you do eat, and all those ups and downs can be really hard on your body!)
Depends on the junk. If I'm hungry and someone is making mac & cheese, sure I'll have some cuz it can have some healthy benefits. But if I'm hungry and someone wants to go to McDonalds or wherever, noooo. But you should have more healthy snacks available to you, go get some!
I would rather miss a meal than eat junk. But there are SO many healthy snacks that you could keep on hand that honestly I'd eat one of them before I'd skip a meal I've even found healthy trail mixes at my dollar store! love, mom
