I've been thinking lately about that image of the statue or man with the gold head, bronze chest, iron legs, and clay feet. I thought it was a buddhist image, but then I read this: The phrase is from the Bible (Daniel 2: 31-40). King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream. The image that appears to him has a head of gold, breast and arms of silver, belly and thighs of brass, and legs of iron. The feet of this image are made of iron and clay. A stone hits the feet and the whole image breaks into pieces. http://www.randomhouse.com/wotd/index.pperl?date=19991001 So, is there a similar image in buddhism, or am I mixing religions up again?
I'm by no means an authority but I have not heard of this image at all (Buddhist or non). It's an interesting image though, with much wisdom.
