i never understood how hippies could get depressed. then i realized it, quite simple really, this world sucks. theres too much fucked up shit. some times its just like, why even bother.
Some times its hard to stay positive in the face of the worlds injustices, but just look around you at all the beauty and it keeps you going... also a good hot cup of tea works wonders on the soul..."smile and the world smiles with you!"
Of course hippies can get depressed...I know there's a lot of depressed hippies on here (including myself), but I can still be free, and do what I believe in. Everyone gets depressed, but you just gotta not let it get in the way of all the beautiful things in life, and all the wrong things you want to change. Hippies are no different in their emotions, but its how we don't let society run us, and control what we feel that makes us different...
What a lot of people don't really understand, is that with depression comes happiness. The world isnt made up of just one standard emotion, it's a combination of hundreds of them. I guess you could even use this as an example: You and your partner get into a fight, you are furious when you go to bed, but when you wake up you wonder just how resonable your feelings were at the time. What I'm trying to say is that as frusterating as feeling down or depressed may be, there will also be another time where you feel like you are on top of the world. I hope things get better for you.

Hippies, although probably much more laid-back and happy than your average person, have emotions as well. emotional abuse-dah! that's what kept me down the other day. but maybe it's also at the sadness of how short life is!!! and that we just aren't happy with some things of human made society
Happiness is like the key to the world, but we all should share what we've got with others. Not just in material things, people. You don't have to be a communist to share the "wealth." I like to find happiness in everyday things, cause sometimes giving it takes a lot outta ya. If you're bright on the inside, let it shine.
Just cause we're hippies doesnt mean that the world around us can come crashing down. We all make mistakes in life that we wish we could take back (re-do). But when i feel depressed i just look at the one woman in my life that can put a smile on my face and the depression leaves me. I am so glad that i found this person to share my life with and hope with all my heart that she and I will be together for a very long time. That is where i find my strength to go on day to day in this fucked up world that we live in. I hope that your depression lifts and that you can find yourself happy again Peace be with you, always.....
I feel sad most of the time because everybody thinks I'm living in the past. Everyone around me is living in what is the present which is pretty shit. Like it's hard to be a hippie these days, there's not many around but like ye might as well be what you are and live it and I suppose happiness will come to you.
