    hi all

i dont post in here very often, but i wanted to ask, how much are people charging these days as studio musicians/vocalists? I had a local band ask me to do some studio backup as a vocalist and i have no idea how much to charge. I dont want to go over a reasonable price and i dont want to sell myself short.

Also check out my website www.nicolettelagace.com

    thanks everyone ><>'

Mostly this would depend on how much you think they can offer, how badly you want to do it, and how much work they want.

The best advice I can give would be to find out how many songs, if you get a credit on the CD, and ask that they give you an hourly wage if the sessions run more than one night.

When I was schooled in what to ask for, union wage was about 45 per hour. Most folks dont pay this, but its a high end estimate - hope it helps. If they have a super studio, it might be worth it to go for cheap to get a copy of your work to pad the resume with. If they have a buddy doing it, charge em cause those guys can be hard to work with.

If it were me, I would use the old bluesman fee, and say I wanted fifty bucks and a bottle of whiskey per night! Good luck!
