I thought Requiem For A Dream was a bit overrated. Everyone I talked to said it was amazing and then when I finally saw it I wasn't that impressed.

Deadonceagain, how can you say you don't like Fear and Loathing when youre avatar is a picture from the movie?

"American Beauty" is overrated. Dont get me wrong, the plot is ok... but it tries too hard to be "artistic" and fails.

Hands down my #1 pick is Napoleon Dynamite as well. Biggest waste of time in my life. Had it remained low key i think i could have appreciated it a little more for it's intentional lame factor...but it blew into this gigantic mainstream obsession. When will i ever be able to go into public without seeing a "Vote For Pedro" shirt?? WHEN??? Even the rip off shirts aren't funny "fuck pedro, vote for me" go to hell napoleon dynamite! you have now made us all more stupid.

Other overrated movies include, but are not limited to Daredevil, Spiderman, the whole Scary Movie package, Anger Management....

Come on, I liked the first Scary Movie... after that though, they were among the worst movies I've ever seen.

Now these movies are some of my favorites, but they are sooo overrated.

Boondock Saints-I love the action in this movie, and it has a pretty cool plot as well, but it's basic. I have a boondock saints shirt with the prayer on the back and the two brothers on the front, and every time i wear it everyone comes up to me and is like THATS THE BEST MOVIE EVER I LOVE IT SO MUCH I LIVE BY THAT MOVIe...i just kinda laugh

Fight Club-I loved everything about this movie, but people seem to love it so much just because other people do. I think half of my school used a quote from this movie in their senior quotes...i doubt they've read the book or understand what it's really about

Pirates of the carribean 1/2-for the highest grossing first weekend ever I was not even close to impressed. I think the only thing I liked about the first one was the music haha

wow, there seems to be a LOT of anti-"napolean dynamite" and "eternal sunshine" sentiment.

i LOVED both of those flicks.
that said neither were hyped AT ALL in my country. in fact they were *almost* like rare indie treasures at first find. for example, i first saw napolean at an international film festival and i don't even think it went for general cinema release.

for me the worst hyped movies were:
    the passion of the christ
    troy
    the davinci code
    waterworld

I loved Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I liked Napoleon Dynamite the first time I saw it, but it got old very very very quickly.

Dare I mention the Lord of the Rings movies? They were wonderful, but they weren't godly, like some people think of them. Especially the third one. It was great, but it wasn't the greatest.

Quentin Tarantino, I really hate this fucker, there isn't a single one of his movies in which he doesn't rip someone else off. Remember his episode in this shitty film "Four Rooms"? yeah, he ripped off a short story by Roald Dahl in that one.

Ever watched "Once upon a Time in America"? That's almost the same storytelling "technique" that Tarantino used for Pulp Fiction.

at times he can write somewhat "funny" dialogs which is actually just trashtalking other than that I fail to see how he can be considered a great director.
