sure, if it's that bad, you gotta see the doctor. People sometimes die from ear infections that go untreated for too long. ear candles help prevent them for me, and I have always had chronic ear infections my entire life. also identifying the allergies that cause them and eliminating those foods from my diet, but I didn't stop getting them until I started using the ear candles. And I have used them at the first sign I was starting to get an ear infection, and it went completely away! Prevention is much preferable plan of action to me than attempting to treat illness after you're already sick.

i'm all about healing naturally, but with the ear candles, arent you afraid of having hot wax drip into your ear?

People die from untreated ear infections? How? How long does it have to go untreated for someone to die?

an inner ear infection can travel directly to the brain. You do not want an infected brain. I don't know how long it takes, but I did know someone in real life who died that way.

I have never had hot wax drip in my ears using ear candles properly.

    That's terrible *hugs*

But it makes perfect since now...that it could travel to your brain. Thanks for explaining! :)

the green smelly stuff is the infected matter that popped thru your eardrum.
Get to an allopath (standard doc) for treatment of teh current infection. get agressive. a week of stomach uspet is worth it to fix the immediate problem.
THEN, get to a naturopath or alternative healer of your choice/accessability. Chat with them. Find out their views of infections.
start finding WHY you have this chronically.

places to start examining are : allergies: food and airborne. congestion keeps crap in your sinuses and can cause backing up of the ear tubes. If you have asthma, double this advice.
bathing habits/ swimming: do you wash your hair by submerging your head? do you swim a lot? both allow dirty water into the outer ear and bacteria can get through the ear drum. esp if you get perferations.
THis is your health and your hearing. Deal with it.

So happy Ive found all of you. I get ear infections all the time, I used to do alot of swimming and thought that was the problem. But after I stopped, still got them. Never thought it would be related to my diet. I had a boil in my ear which popped a few days ago. Ear pain is the worst, Id rather give birth again! The puss is just sitting in ear and I can't hear a thing, Ive been prescribed some antibiotics and ear drops today and if there is no change by Monday I have to go to the hospital to get it sucked out.

flush it out gently with a syringe (they're about as long as your index finger and just as wide), put a drop of tea tree oil in the water and shake it up then use this to flush ear with the syringe. i'm assuming its an outer ear infection. try not drinking/eating milk for a while to see if the ear infections stop. the tea tree oil is quite potent and you shouldn't use too much it'll penetrate into the inner ear through the ear drum add a couple of peppermint drops for a buzz.

follow up on the hydrogen peroxide method

i found that you should only use this method once, preferably after you have already flushed the ear to remove anything still in there.
i've found recently that peroxide is a bit harsh after a while
so as general advice just stick to the mild flush with tea tree ie one drop to a cup and then shaken up.

i get this problem every once in a while probably by eating and drinking things i shouldn't. the allergic reaction seems to create a kind of dermatitis in the ear. i think i've solved this problem by applying some cream direct (i used this cream to cure chemically induced dermatitis in about half an hour, my hands had been completely screwed up by accidently leaving powdered chlorine on them, by the end of a year after using cortisone and every whacky solution i hit the jackpot. my hands were actually bleeding when i put this cream on within half an hour they had stopped bleeding and weren't itching etc etc i think i've probably spoken about this before)

An otolaryngologist would be best but guy has a good home remedy.A powerful decongestant, diuretics and/or steroids can provide relief.Ask your doctor for a antibiotic injection.Visualize your immune system's white blood cells fighting the infection.Acupuncture boosts the immune system and homeopathic remedies are useful too_Om

I agreee. If this is a reoccuring problem, it is best to get a referal to an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor. :)

yeah my home remedy has helped me alot including someone with the problem for 50 years. i experimented with the g.a. cream to help me this time. i decided to post a follow up as interest to people out there. i feel the peroxide as a long term fix could have problems. as an aside i feel that the tea tree mix would probably sort out debilitating inner ear infections too ( from the people i've met they can go on for months) anyway....

ear candles work wonders for me!! but nothing cleared up my chronic ear infections until I started addressing my food allergies....

whatever you do ... do not use ear candles when you have a ear infection... it will cause ear damage and if its bad enough even make you go deaf.

    Until it stops building up?

It has to stop eventually doesn't it?

I do love tradional remedies for all our ailments, but when things are really bad, the medical profession know their stuff.
