Okay guys, I got somekind of "problem" if I can call that a problem, I know a lot of person who would love that but hey, I'm not feeling confortable in this.

    Here it is...

Since I stopped antidepressants (Effexor) I *ALWAYS* feel high when I'm sober, and normal when I'm high... Not high like when you smoke pot, but like the euphorical feeling you get from X or speed or coke, but not the speedy high. It's strange since X and speed doesn't really affects me anymore (I guess I just did too much).

For telling the truth, I did a lot of drugs and drinking when I was on my antidepressants when I shouldn't and it was dangerous to do so. Well at least that's what my doctor said... I know I've been irresponsable... I just lost control, but I've done 3 drugs rehabs this year, I might get it one day.

Do you have any idea what's going on?

Why did you quit your efexor? Was it helping you? Try going back on it and see if you feel better. Did your doctor take you off of it, or did you stop on your own?

How long has this been going on?

-I quit efexor because it didn't have any effects when I'm on it. Only when I quit, I wasn't like that when I was sober before I started antidepressants.

    - Didn't help me at all, and it cost money, so...

    - I tried going back, nothing.

    - My doctor want me to stop it.

My advice is if you are going to stop the efexor, also stop doing all drugs including coffee, nicotine, and alcohol. Eat raw vegitables, fruits, nuts, berries, legummes, and cut out the fatty stuff. Do this for a while, maybe a few months to see if the highness goes away.

If you are feeling sick and need help, go to an emergency room and be brutally honest about what you are feeling. Don't make stuff sound better or worse. Just say just what you felt, even if you feel better while talking to the doctor.

You just have to be totally honest when dealing with doctors. They can't help if you aren't totally up front.

It may be that the effexor has changed your brain chemestry, hopefully only temporarily. You might be best gradually going off of it with your doctor watching as you go down in dose.

Your burnt out on life. It happens to some people. You have to wake up and get your drive back.

How long did you take Effexor, and did you stop taking it altogether, all at once? If you did, you're lucky this is all you're having to deal with. Quiting antidepressants like that is dangerous. Even if you didn't quit all at once, and are slowly weening yourself off (as you should be), you're most likely experiencing withdrawal, as most people do when they try and quit. Effexor has some of the worst withdrawal effects of all the anti-d's, the only one outdoing it is Prozac. Try taking Benadryl. It probably won't help much, it's more recommended for those who break out in rash's/can't sleep/shake when they're trying to quit Effexor, but it won't hurt you, and maybe you'll get lucky and it'll stop that feeling. If it doesn't work, you can always talk to your doctor or psych... there are other ways to safely come off these meds.

I know all that, and I'm quitting all that slowly, I've been talking to a doc or a psych, but they don't know what to give me since nothing work for me...

I'm not following you, then. If you know the symptoms you're experiencing are normal when coming off Effexor, then what's your question?
