I'm a Christian ... pretty hardcore actually ... And i've never been baptised. But I know what you mean ... Most people are like ... "your not a Christian if your not baptised!!!" Apparently it's an unsung rule I was never informed of.
No idea it seems a strange thing to get hung up on I was christened when I was born but other then that I haven't done anything formal. Josh is a christian?
I agree Josh, apparently it's an unspoken rule? I guess I am going to hell, and all that stuff of believeing in Jesus is crap. Spence- stfu fo'.
Probably because adult baptism/confirmation is a public declaration of faith and most practising religous folk do it I guess
Hmm.... Baptism's... Useless and archaic practices... Trying to dispell "evil pagan forces" Pagan forces they leached there entire belief system off of. Just goes to show the hypocrisy of the Roman Catholic Church... That and the molestation thing... creepy as all get out... Gah.
definitely Okay, so what I want to know is... Is there a difference between being baptized and christened?
I dont believe in being baptized. I mean, I guess its cool if you're an adult. But my dad had it done when he was a baby.. and he doesnt believe in the religion he was baptized to. And his family's church has a rule where if you "undo" it, you're excommunicated. So to make it easier on the rest of the family, he stays baptized. Thats why he didnt raise me into any religion. I thought being "Christian" meant being a good person until I was in 4th grade. I had no idea about the beliefs or anything.
I was baptised when I was little... I didn't like it. all I remember was looking up at the surface of the water and being really freaked because I thought they weren't going to let me back up, and the pastor or whatever he's called was this enormous man, like 300 pounds and I thought they must be punishing me for being bad but I'm not christian, or anything else.
