Was just wondering if we could make a "sticky" for cloth diaper/nursing pad patterns? I think it would help a lot of Mama's and Papa's out, and maybe even offer a range of patterns that would give them an idea of the different types that are out there

A pattern that I am using for cloth diapers is:

    http://mayna.livejournal.com/198548.html

Its an "all in one" diaper with elastic edges and velcro closing. I used the left over edges of the diaper fabric to make some soaker pads.

As for Nursing/Breast pads, my cousin gave me a couple that she used as a guideline. Very simple to sew, and more natural looking than the plain circle ones!

Using 2 pieces of flannelette (one on top of the other) cut out a large "U" shape, about 10cm high. Cut into the middle of the "u" about 4 cm from the top. Sew along all edges.

fold/slid/curve together top until two pieces meet, making a cone-like shape out of the slit you cut.. and place over nipple. Vitually disappears once covered with a shirt... much less noticable than the round bulky ones!

When I looked at the pattern it looked like a fitted diaper, not an AIO - or did you just follow her pattern and add the outer waterproof later? I'm confused? Its a cute diaper, for sure. You should post pics of your own! Tomorrow, I'll post pics of ones I have made. I don't use AIO, I use prefolds and covers, but I love to make covers. I have a million patterns online for making diapers. I'll post them tomorrow.

It is kinda confusing unless you read the entire tutorial step by step.

I used 2 layers of flannelette, with a water-resistant layer in between, so I don't have to use the plastic/rubber/wool soakers on the outside (I am really allergic to wool, so I reason that Jr. might be too)

The link you gave says "fitted diaper". I'm sure that its possible to add a waterproof layer, but the actual tutorial is for a fitted diaper. On the fabrics list, it lists cotton and flannel, nothing waterproof. I just don't want someone to see it and make it and think that its an AIO and not understand that they need a cover, ya know?

http://www.diapersewing.com/ This site has patterns to make all different kinds of diapers

http://www.geocities.com/mytafadhali/PULCover101.htm This shows how to make a PUL diaper cover, but you can use the same basic shape for fleece or wool too.

http://www.tinybirdsorganics.com/organicwool/woolpants.html This shows how to knit wool longies

http://www.geocities.com/rew4birth/Diapers.html This site allows you to print patterns to fitted diapers and AIO

http://www.geocities.com/gabrielbaby1/fuzzibunz.html I've never tried this one, I've actually never used a pocket diaper, but they look awesome

http://www.borntolove.com/frugal-column2.html This is a recycled wool sweater turned into a wool cover

http://wardroberefashion.blogspot.com/2006/07/sleeve-pants.html Ok so I can't find a really good tutorial on how to make wool longies from sleeves, but this is basically it, except this woman is making pants, not a diaper cover. But this is pretty much how I do it.

I said I would add some pictures of the diapers I made... just needed to wait until after we moved. So here they are!

here is the inside of the diaper... the dark blue pocket is where to insert the soaker pad. Tabs on the top are velcro.

a knitted soaker pad, and on the very opposite edge ar some cloth soaker pads I made using the extra fabric from cutting the diapers.

outside of diaper, with one of the velcro tabs attached... the lighting is bad on this one, but you can kinda see the velcro strip that the tabs attach to.
