I have been doing some studying on the principle of Karma and I do in fact believe in it. Or I believe more in it than I do in most things, that is. A lot of people have totally mistaken ideas about just what Karma is though.
it seems relevant to my life, but then i look at these ceo's etc. and it seems things rarely come back at them.
Karma is based on the princial of reincarnation. What you do in one life, carrys one to the next. No... it's not possible to reincarnate to a bug because your karma of the last life sucked. Karma is just a way of teaching! I'll post elsewhere about reincarnation!!! Something I love to learn about! But yes, I do belive in Karma and I do belive in reincarnation, if you were wondering!
if you refer to karma as the hindu measurement of ones atman in samsara, determining their role in life, then no i do not beleive it. but, if i were to strike someone in the face, it would be a safe bet to assume that something bad is coming back my way
Exactly. People seem to think that if you do something bad in this life it means that your next life will just really suck ass. I am really tired right now, but tomorrow I will give my discussion on Karma. It's too bad that it was used to keep the people in the lower levels of society in their place. Because since what you did in your last life helps to determine where you are in the next one, it was believed that anyone in the lower class was supposed to be there and should not try to rise above. Which was really not that great of a thing.
I kind of believe in karma to the point that it can benefit in the life now. If you do a lot of nice things now, it will help you out later. Ive had a couple of instances which im too lazy to post right now. I never got into it too much. It is pretty interesting though. It makes you kind of wonder, since I think my life is kinda bad does that mean I was an asshole? Did you ever think if celebrities were good or bad people in their last life? Since they have such hard but cushy lives. Who do you think bill gates was
DIdya ever read 'Brave new world'? I was really reminded of this book while studying this aspect of hinduism. I find that the class system in the book bears a striking resemblance to that of the religion.
Karma is a primal law of reality. I think Karma is another name for one's relationship to the universe. Karma is the universe's response to the way you practice the Golden Rule (do to others as you would have them do to you). With all of your attention, your thoughts, your words, your decisions, your actions, creations and destructions you "tell" the universe how you expect to be treated. In one way or another, the universe complies.
I actually haven't read it yet, although I have been meaning to for quite some time. But I definitely will as soon as I have the chance.
