You start fertilizing when the plant is 2 weeks old, indoors or out. You want to first amend the soil with a top quality potting soil, or use quality potting soil in a large container. You'll want to use a nutrient designed for vegatative growth, like 20-10-10, then switch to a flowering nutrient right around this time of year. Organic fertilizers produce tastier bud. But hold on there. If you're in the northern hemisphere, it's too late to plant outdoors. You gonna have to wait until next spring. If you planted seeds now the plants wouldn't produce any buds. This time of year is when flowering first begins the 2 month process, and plants need a month (at least) of veg before flowering.
