Do you mean "Nietzsche"? LOL! I thought Fight Club was stupid but somewhat entertaining. Blue skies, -Jeffrey
I have found alot of John Waters films to be disturbing (love his movies) and a perfect example of that would be Pink Flamingos--for those of you who have seen it you know what I'm talking about.
I think that the hands-down winner of the "most disturbing movie" award is Series Seven: The Contenders. It's about a random lottery that picks a group of people to be on the ultimate "reality t.v. show." The people who are picked are forced, against their will, by the government, to go to a selected town and kill each other by any means necessary. They cannot leave the game until they either are killed or kill the others in the group. There are some severely disturbing scenes in this movie. It is most certainly not for the faint-of-heart. The drama has a gritty, real-life feel to it. It's a lot like watching an episode of COPS, but where the people who are followed by the camera are legal murderers. I think that the filmmaker really had something to say about our stupid fascination with putting people's lives on display on television for the rest of society to gawk at. I think it's almost a black comedy, ripping into modern society in a cynical way as if to say, "Look at how fucked up we are; this is what we could easily become." Blue skies, -Jeffrey
In Too Deep (1999) When LL Cool J shoved that pool stick up that guy's ass that totally freaked me out for a couple weeks.
yes, the ring was a very good movie.. except that wen they show the very nasty mutations.. i get extremely grossed out. but then again, it's all makeup.. maybe even chocolate sauce or something.. who knew?
"Requem for a dream" is the most moving, sad movie i've ever seen None have I witnessed getting back to their normal lives in less than 2 days.
Is that how you spell his name? Yeah though, that's the guy. Stupid German whackadoo. I won't say he deserved to die alone in the loony bin.... but... well.. maybe he deserved to die alone in the loony bin. Probably not very hippyish of me. But again, I was never a hippy. I was a Lodi. Maybe that's why I can't spell very well.
the ring scared me so much i couldn't sleep for weeks. i slept with the ligth on for days. i saw that stupid little girl everywhere.:& and cabin fever disturbed in the way that i was disturbed that hollywood would spend that much money on fake gore for a movie that never even should ahve been written. BAD MOVIE! pulp fiction's one of my favorite films, but the scene where john travolta is shooting up freaks me right out. i do have a thing about needles, but he pulls the blood into the needles and then shoots it. oh god.
You're kidding, right? I thought Hedwig was one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. My list: The Wicker Man (As per Peaceful Jeffrey's request) is about an Irish policeman who investigates the case of a missing girl. He then uncovers some strange rituals of the people who live on the Island, crazy shit happens, watch it to see the end. Very freaky stuff. and They Shoot Horses, Don't they? is about a 1930s depression era dance marathon. A woman and a man who do not know eachother pair up for the contest, as well as some other couples who's minds and spirits slowly deteriorate, and seeing Robert go from this happy-go-lucky guy to this dead-inside man was just really awful. A great movie, though, spesh the marathon scene itself. and Easy Rider Two hippies on bikes. Meet Jack Nicholson. Get high. Etc.
I did'nt read any of the other posts btw, but I wanna throw something in real quick. I heard that there are alot of people who think there are thousands of Nietzsche clones living on the moon. Idk how valid this is, but I think it's fucking ridiculous. I've read some of his stuff too, I was'nt too impressed.
i thought show girls was disturbing...lol..gave me nightmares...first movie i got up and walked out on
i recently saw Napolean Dynamite Napolean's uncle borderline-hitting on the young girls gave me a shiver or two.
That's because Alex has sold out his idealistic youthful principles of delinquency and violence and has become an adult with all the pragmatism and compromise that entails. Wonderful novel and film.
That would be The Exorcist for me... I saw it when I was about eight years old, and it freaked the Hell out of me.
The last thing that I checked out on my list was Irreversible. I had read several comments about this being a horribly disturbing movie. I guess I must have missed something. It didn't do much for me.
Grrrrrrrr! I had a very scary dream last night and guess what it was 'based' on? Gothica *sigh*.. I'm sooooo bad with supernatural thrillers, even if they kinda suck! Argh!
