I read a reply to a thread and exactly what I was afraid of happening, happened. It seems there is a true defination of "hippie" among some. You wouldn't exactly believe me to be at all hippie if you saw me. I look more like a soccer-mom than a hippie. I'm not a poser or anything, it just that a lot of my views and ideas on things "fit" more here than anywhere else. I just sense that there is a lot of "well, if you don't wear dreads, you're not a hippie" or "if you don't like patchwork, you aren't a hippie" or "if you don't smoke weed, boycott government, you aren't a hippie" or "if you own a house, shave your legs, shop at the mall, go to church- you aren't a hippie". That sort of thing. Is "hippie" an all or nothing sort of deal? Or is it really the tolerant, all loving, all feeling moniker that we claim? Discuss. *eats popcorn, not organic, from the microwave*
