Peace, yes! when it runs i can strech her les on route 66! i can get teh ORIGINAL Air Conditioner fre on for her!. they still make it but its VERY expensive. yes it harms the ozone layer BUT i care but i am lenianthen it comes to transportation. and i can get real hight quality lead gas! the airport! yes airplanes use top quality lead gas! and its expenseive to! so i will just use it once in a while, the rest of the the time lead addite and substitute. my car can fit 8 people. 4 in front and back seat. less folks less crowded. anyone on hipforums is welcome! Route 66 is still there. so are about 2/3 of the bussinesses! i saw several movies to see wha ti was getting myself into and it looks ok. my car has a 283 size motor 4 barrel carb. v8.. my car ( teh 57 chevys were some of the first cars to have this many new technologies in one car. example the 57's had ( some ) power steering, air conditining, powered windows, powered seats, etc ) mine has air conditining and power steering, and ABE pwered seats/ bench. and she is one of the moost solid un restored 57s i have EVER seen! there is lest advanced rust on her then in all the area of both your hands! and i will make sure she is in tip top mechanical shape before i go. and make sure i hav eplenty of money! gas money, etc. i can fit up to 8 persons in my 57 4 door. WE, Angel, and Flwoer Child have photos of my car and if you ask they might just post it for you the pictures are how it is today. but i better say that not all the parts are on the car. like the headlight rims, grills, hubcaps, etc are in teh trunk. the parts in teh back seat have been restored already! including the air conditioner i think. the only thing that is damaged on the interior is the ceiling faberic, and some damage on the back of the front bench. the exterior the rust. and the original paint is still on. peeling near the bottom. needs new paint down tehre. the rust will have to be cut out and replaced with new sheet metal. needs my bumpers and grills rechromed, and a very small dent by the rear passenger fin that can be poped out, underframe could use a good sand blasting, the motor runs. i saw her run! she ran like she was brand new anyone interested in going ( when seh is runnign good that is. ) later the waking up flower child
He's so hip he's a trip. Unfortunatly, much of the old route 66 is gone. There are still some interesting things to see and do. But much of the old road is gone.
Peace WE, actually in the 80's when it was not a road useful according to the Hightway Admin. and not a competition to the new interstate it was disasembled ( the SIgns, and was alowed to sit and let plants regrow it but some guys who lived along Route 66 got it back up and it still is there as a national landmark! now called Historic Route 66. i saw movies not even 5 years old about how it is today. alot of the VERY old ' Mother Road ' is gone but the newer Route 66 ( from the 40's, 50's, and 60's is all there. it is just closer to the interstate well the interstate is closer to the newer Route 66. but they all say ou can still travel from one end to the other still! i have relitives down in Claremore Ok. and that is right on Route 66! they say it is one of the most famous towns in Ok. along the Mother Road! i am giong to see if i can find a map about where the different 66 roads are at because over the years the road has changed its direction of path in some places. the only part of 66 that really is 'not there' is in Arizona by some sort of canyon which later 66 modifications made a shortcut and the interstate was paved right over that shortcut! the extended road piece is gone. but you can still go from end to end. you ever been on 66 WE?
