Im kind of sad that I never lived throught the sixties, never experienced a world where revolution and standing up for what you believe in was acceptable, and even respected, where drug law was barely existant and much more resonable, where people like you and I were the majority of the population instead of the outnumbered and routinely ridiculed minority (cue insults; "peace loving poison!", from an eight year old child). Since when has wanting peace and unity been a bad thing? I guess it threatens some peoples over inflated egos to realise that no, not everybody bases respect on a sliding scale of how much you earn and how many "neat" possesions you happen to have. Whatever happened to people being cherished and loved because of their personality and values instead of what you can get from them. So anyway, older hippies, do you think its really to late for change? Could you really truthfully see the country rallying together like yesteryear to campaign for the future of humankind, or has the spirit of hippydom trully dissapeared from the world? I would so love to create another woodstock, to campaign to stop the war, to be self sufficiant, to help the environment, to help others, to spread a different set of values and to make our mother earth a nicer place to be...would my young friends and I have the support of the older hippy generation? I very much hope so, the spirit of the sixties still lives in us, I hope you havent forgotten how those years felt! So um, whos with me? Sarah xx
yeah - now who's just gonna Do instead of just sayin - cause that sure ain't doin - Be surprised how many of us olders are doing just that . Doing.
Im glad you guys are still doing , I just came back from a night of spray painting peace stencils around town, spread the joy and all...It made me strangely happy actually, more of this to come I think! So yes, keep standing up for what we believe in as it is good for the soul!!!
Now let me see if I got this right-You are asking to live in a world without wars or fighting?-Yes-this would be good-so-how to start ?-Lets see-maybe you can join the group in Crawford Tex-Sheehan has a nice piece of land down there next to the president and her group of anti war protesters is getting bigger everyday-you might want to check her website-I may just drive down to lend support-Her son died for Iraq and oil and to keep Bush's buddies at Haliburton richer then they are now-She wants answers to why he died and so far she has not been answered-It's disgraceful as a human to send a young man to die in the desert when you yourself did not go when it was your turn-And now Bush will not give this women 5 minutes of his valuable time-Yes-This country needs to get loud again-please don't get yourself busted for spraypainting the town with peace signs-that just pisses people off-why not go to the library and make some posters-hand out flowers in front of city hall-if your nice and not pushy people will listen to you-right now 70% of the country is dissaproving of this administration and its policies-your not alone-
Namaste brothas and sistas,we need to be the change that we want to see.Once we build our collective and learn how to live in peace everything will fall into place just be patient and keep love in your heart.
