hi yall, I've been amazed at how much info yall have here, and thought you might know what's going on with my little blueberry. I just started growing a month or 2 ago, and everything has been going well so far, cept for those pesky spidermites. I just got a blueberry clone 2 weeks ago, and she hasn't really grown. I have 4 other plants that have been growing like crazy, but she has only grown maybe an inch, and that was only in this past week. I have a mall closet grow using soil. Right now she is under compact flo's with 3 of the other plants. I use maricle grow 10-10-10 and superthrive in the water I give them. last week she was under my 400w HPS with 16 on 8 off. Now, since I have dedicated the HPS to one of them blooming, she's under constant compact Flo's. What I wonder is: is she just having issues, or does Blueberry just gow different than what I have experienced so far???

    thanks,

If you don't get completely rid of the spider mites first they will ruin your crop during flowering.

I'm pretty sure I got rid of all the little buggers. I used Safer 3 in 1 spray, gave them a good spray once then again a few days later. I haven't seen any webbing on them or any other signs that I missed a few. I hope I got them all cuz I just started one of them into 12/12.

The mites may have damaged the leaves more than it appears and the plant should recover but the mites will recur. If they do it can be treated regularly with safers or a neem spray in a 10:1 solution in water. Thats 10 parts water to one part neem. Floramite is harder to obtain but it is very effective against mites.

A more organic solution is stick to the safers and the neem. You can spray with neem upto about half way through flowering and it last 2 weeks.

Another way to try is predator mites or ladybugs. Many use pyretheum products.

If buds upon finishing have a few mites just remove them and any webs as the buds should be fine. If not eliminated controlling the problem is the next best thing.

Mites are brought in by clones that have them. Clones brought into your garden should be inspected and treated prophylactically and they will still be a risk. Lucky is the grower that doesnt get them but its pervasive in many areas. Never bring a plant in your indoor grow from outside either. BOG
