It's all smoke and mirrors and another way to market the "plight" of the Jews and Israelis to the American public while they carry on the destruction of Lebanon. Who cares what he said? What difference in the big scheme does it really make? He's an actor not a world leader that can call upon all parties for a cease fire. What George Bush and Tony Blair imply by letting this continue is that Lebanese lives count for less than those of Israelis.
Well, there is no doubt this will severely damage his career, if not altogether ruin it. That's how powerful the Jewish lobby is in this country, as well the zionist-controlled media. Gibson has been a target of the ADL nazis since 'The Passion' came out. I am not even a fan of Gibson or his movies, but this is nothing short of character assassination. They don't like Gibson, and they especially don't like his father, who has spoke openly about what he believes about zionism and the Jesuits' control over the Vatican. He has also openly stated that he believes the 9/11 attacks were an inside job. Mel is far from perfect, and to say that "Jews are behind all wars" is misleading and does a lot to hurt people trying to expose the real perpetrators of global wars. Perhaps if he had used zionists or Rothschilds in place of "Jews" I would have agreed with him. The Jews are merely being used a pawns by their elite zionist leaders.
Boo hoo! Cry me a river. Nobody gives a damn what you think of his movies. Nobody even mentioned his movies because that's not what we're talking about.
Too bad for him some of the most powerful studio heads, producers, and directors in Hollywood are Jewish.
i'm not sure if anyone has made the connection between these comments and the fact that was completely off his face. i've seen alcoholics and lived with them and heard plenty of stories about people getting completely uncontrollable when consuming it. the best was the one where if one person got drunk he would start threatening to kill his closest friends. in a party they would watch until they figured he had started reaching this stage and then trick him into a cupboard where they would lock him up for his own good. mel gibson would probably have plenty of jewish friends. alcohol affects the mind in strange ways, people become agitated and easily to offend they fight each other and kill people and rape people under its influence, some people have even chopped their own heads off. this is why i rarely allow myself to be in the company of drunken people. mel's probably going to be an alcoholic for the rest of his life so the jewish lobby had better start getting used to his opinion when he's drunk. (and no i don't really like his films (except mad max and his earlier films hee hee)).
Mel Gibson and his career aren't what this thread is about. It's how the American mentality can be sidetracked if you bring a celebrity issue in on anything. Wake up folks. He has a right to say what he did, but who really cares what he said,or what it will do to his career. Shit he has enough money to live three lives without working ever again. Why does it rate all the air time. I would like more in depth sane coverage of the conflict from both sides. Leave the celebrities out of it. I'd like to see a casualty count so that I can judge for myself. Do they post those on the news? I haven't seen a chart that shows Israeli casualties against Lebanese casualties...have you?
Uh, the REAL issue is WHY was the report of the incident covered up by the police? Makes you wonder what else they coverup for the convenience of the rich and famous? I hope some heads roll over there over this.
Who even knows or cares if it was covered up. Look at what happened with Rodney King. If it wasn't Mel, it would be Brittany or Paris. Wake up people and ask for the real answers to the real questions.
If what the US is doing in the Middle East is trying to promote democracy, why are we letting one of the few true democracies there (Lebanon) be bombed into oblivion?
The Israeli Palestinian conflict everywhere. Here were the Casualty figures I heard yesterday: Israel: 52 Deaths Wounded (varies widely) 300-1600 Lebanon: 560 Deaths Wounded (varies widely) 800-3500 As for why is a major holywood figure who focuses on lately has focused largely on religious themed roles makes anti-semitic remarks is a big deal, you can decide that for yourself.
The whole contraversy is only because Mel Gibson denied the fact that his Jesus movie was anti-semitic, and then he said anti-semitic remarks. This is not a means of distraction, it's just more out of proporsion Holywood news... I cannot believe people actually give a fuck about all this Mel Gibson shite.
CNN Headline News got rid of the news in the evening and have been talking about Gibson every night now, not to mention a bunch of other Hollywood fluff that has nothing to do with the news. They've turned into Entertainment Tonight. Way to go, CNN. .
works pretty well doesnt it? look at this thread as a rl example of how effective this technique is. it's sortof like a magician waving a scarf up in the air to distract the attention of the audience while he shifts the cards around with the other hand. beautiful.
I cannot believe you people are honestly fighting over Mel Gibson. Who gives a fuck?? No one does. Only the media. If the media hadn't be force-feeding this incident down our throats, no one would even be talking about it. As long as Mel Gibson keeps cranking out entertaining movies, I don't give a shit. Tom Cruise is batshit insane too but I still watch his movies. I was throwing stuff at my tv when Tom was talking about how mental illness doesn't exist but guess which tool was inline opening night for War of the Worlds? Me. FYI, Braveheart and The Patriot were kick-ass movies...I didn't care for Passion because I prefer my gore in horror movies..but I was impressed by the Aramaic and street Latin being spoken..and the Devil-chick was helluva crazy. I will still watch his Mad Max and Lethal Weapon movies and Signs and whatever else.
