Honestly, I wish I had gone naturally (I will some day...but right now, I'm not ready to give up my current dreadies), but since I backcombed my dreads to begin with, what I did at the ends of the dreads was to fold up the leftover loose hair that wasn't able to be backcombed and put a little tiny elastic over it. I have blunt tips for that reason. But you also have to be careful because 1) the elastics will decay if left in for months and 2) you'll have to pick out each and every one of those elastics eventually if you don't want them completely devoured by the dreads. Really, I only missed probably one elastic that melted into my hair, and besides that, was able to get them all out with little problem. I'm sure there are a million other ways to get blunt tips (sewing, crocheting, palm rolling, time), so I'm not sure what to tell you to do...lol...
I tried Elastics once... That didnt work out to good. I f once put in a couple of elastics as an expirement to see what happens. Well a few does gone by, with some comments from friends at school. But after like a week the dreads, like you said devoured the elastics and it was a pain to ripe out (during class, i was bored )... Thanx, for the tip, but the elastics method donst fit with my forgetingness and ignorant peers....
im trying to get blunt tips too. at the ends of my dreads i had just loose hair that hasnt dreaded yet, (ive had my dreads for 11 months now. ALMOST A YEAR!!) so i cut a little off, nothing was knotted yet that i cut. and i took the dread between like two fingers and rolled it in my palm ya know. it works pretty good. im just going to keep doing that because it seems like a good idea. peace~
I think palm rolling and puting beads on the ends would help even more... I just need to find beads small enough ...
small enough... i can't find any tht are fat enough lol does tht mean i have really fat dreads or wat lol, myn are like pencil thickness (3 weeks old)
LoL, the only beads i have are from my pipe which i took apart but still functional... Where can you buy beads? I dont want internet sites...>.>
You can buy beads at Wal-Mart in their craft section. If you're extremely lucky, you'll find some that will fit on your dreads. | couldn't find any that actually fit, [my dreads are pretty big] But | did find some pretty cool shells that | decided to use to close up the ends of my dreads. Shells, in my opinion, look alot better and more personal then elastics Peace and mangos for you!
i did a little experiment my self with cuting the ends off and it works fine if you dont mind loosing some length just cut it off blunt and it stays that way only works if your cuting in to a tight end if its not tight yet it just lossens off and comes un done at the end more same as a dread hair cut
yeah wal-mart ac moore all craft stores got em and they fit my dreads :] mine at medium size basicly but some are fat some are small
