Who Authorized The Assassination Of John Lennon?

i'm a big lennon fan n i've just been reading up on the the assassination on http://www.john-lennon.net/whoauthorizedtheassassinationofjohnlennon.htm it's realy convinseing(haha sorry i can't spell 4 beans)but i'm still not sure why it all happened n who was behind it.what do u guys think?????

 

my knowledge of it was there was a guy called mark chapman who thought he was the guy out of catcher in the rye and he was crazy and talked to his civilisation of little people who weren't there and he just wanted to kill john lennon because he thought there was a metaphor for killing john lennon in catcher in the rye, his next target would've been Freddie Mercury. A common myth is that Mark Chapman went up to john lennon to get his copy of double fantasy signed and Mr Lennon didn't sign it so mark chapman came back later and shot him. this is NOT true, Mark Chapman's signed copy of double fantasy was sold at auction, john did sign it. also mark saw a photographer when he was getting his album signed and said "you should take a lot of pictures this might be the last time you see him" that's true.

A few days before Lennon's death, Chapman attended David Bowies performance of the Elephant Man on Broadway, that much is true. Rumour has it that if Lennon hadn't been around the night he killed him he was going to go after Bowie instead, how true that bit is I couldn't tell you. Anyway it was enough for a very spooked out Bowie to pull out of the role on 3 Jan 1981 and not renew a contract for performing the play.

His sister lives out in the States and 25 years ago was dating some Beatles obsessive. She admitted he was rather strange, but seemed perfectly harmless. One day he tells her he's leaving her to live with his soul-mate, an Oriental lady in New York.

Few days later he's back all apologies saying it was all a mistake. Apparently he's acting far stranger than ever before and with being dumped only recently she tells him to take a hike.

Two days later he shoots John Lennon.
