whats the name of this movie?..help..help(its a foreign)

ok all u foreign movie lovers i watched this great movie and i have forgotten the name. i am hoping someone here can help me as i would like to buy it but do not have a clue what it is called.....its about

a women who is in a wheelchair and when she was a little girl she could walk and dance. she finds a way to dance by being on stage and playing the part of a life puppet and is tied up by strings and moves/sings and dancers as some guy pulls her strings...the guy who pulls her strings she falls in love with and he falls in love with her....they make love...the mother of the girl find out and she is there money maker as this dancer on stage and decide to have him killed off....the girls father died when she was little and she finds out in the end it was her mother that had killed her father as she was jealous over the little girl and the lover her father had for her.....she also tries to seduce the string puller and make him love her but he loves the women that is the puppet......i sound dellusional but its really a movie and a great movie at that....like most beautiul foreign movies the cinametography is beautiful and so is the music that goes with the movie........if someone can help me out with the name or what country it was made by would be greatly appreciated...

hi we all shine on...i saw the movie two years ago and have been in search for it since...i did have the name but i lost it and i cant even tell you if its from italy or french. the movie has stuck with me. i have searched so many online foreign film sites and entered. puppet, strings, paraplegic, dancing puppet...lost of returns were for porn. lol. maybe oneday i will find it again.
