Peace and love, my beloved brothers and sisters :).
I'm just wanna know: is there anyone who loves the sounds of Jefferson Airplane and Pink Floyd as much as me? Think, their music realy brings Peace and love in our hearts. My soul is always travelin' to golden 60's times every time with JA. Also I can't imagine a trip  without psichodelic tones of Floyd.
Please, let me know 'bout yourselfs.
Make love not war, dudes ;).

I agree... there's never a time when "Matilda Mother," "Bike," and "Corporal Clegg" don't cheer me up. The same goes for Syd's solo work. Jefferson Airplane does the same, as you said. Actually, any great 60's psychedelia can do that for me! :)

Thats great, that there are the dudes like me in here. Even better that there are dudes that are listening for the same music, like you, dear friend!
Ya know, it's realy hard to find JA's records in Russia :(. I've been waiting for 3 weeks, 've been visiting the music shop every day, just to get only one JA disc (with two albums on it - Takes Off and Surrealistic Pillow), that 've bringed in.
    Now I'm waiting for another.
    Wish me luck, dude!
Peace and much-much love to ya, dear friend :).

I hope you find some Airplane albums! I found Surrealistic Pillow on vinyl for a few dollars once, and I always see Airplane CDs here in the U.S. Anyway, I hope you find everything you're looking for! :)

I love PF (the band and the hot forums chick) but I can only listen in small doses. The old stuff is great, but anything Darkside or after is too depressing.

Well, like Rick Wright once said, Roger Waters was a great songwriter for Pink Floyd, but all he had to write about were bad school experiences and insanity (Syd).

i love the stuff with Roger Waters. it is alot sadder and depressing, but it seems to have alot more emotion and creativity to me.

I'm with you completely on this one Rex.
and let's not forget all the unsung current artists who are spreading those vibes of love and peace
These two contemporary artists are amongst my favourites

[IMG] Lamp of The Universe - The Cosmic Union (2001)

[IMG] Octopus Syng - Beyond The Karmadelic Coldness There's a Lovedelic Warmth (2004) (more than a hint of Barrett's influence here)

I would have to say number 1 would be CSN, songs like wooden ships, long time gone, helplessly hoping, suite:judy blue eyes. Then i would say Enya and Simon and Garfunkel. Lenard Cohen, floyd, Sarah Brightman, Styx( older stuff not mister roboto ), Black eyed Peas, Yes, Lynard Skynard, Old Bowie, Elton John ( old stuff) KISS ( LOL ) and of course the Bee Gees.

I've been wanting to check out Octopus Syng, having heard how heavily influenced they are by Barrett, but I haven't been able to find their albums anywhere on the internet or even any songs to download.

Well, I found their website before, and I think you could maybe e-mail them and order an album that way, but it's out of the country and just doesn't seem reliable. I was hoping to find one of their albums on eBay or something, but I haven't had any luck.

    Hi Lucifer Sam and Skelter

if you are after the album you can either visit the man himself at www.octopus-syng.tk or Soundhawk Records label website at www.soundhawkrecords.com/. Both these places are in Finland so may be costly postage wise. I think it may also be availible here www.freakemporium.com here in the UK. Hope this helps, I got mine from the guy at Soundhawk who released it and he threw in the 7 track mini album for the price that Freakemporium would have charged for the latest album so might be worth asking him how much he can do you the pair of albums for. Hope you manage to get a copy as there are some great tracks on there. Alot of it reminds me of Madcap Laughs and Saucerful but with the darkness taken out and replaced with peace n lovin vibes
hope you manage to get a copy

    Hi Rex

You'll probably be able to pick up The Lamp of the Universe album by contacting Craig himself here http://www.geocities.com/lotusof1000petals/lampoftheuniverse.html

he only pressed 500 copies of this but it looks like he still has copies on his site, his second album Echo In Light sold out completely. There was a German record company called Moonhead who re-issued Cosmic Union but never paid Craig so avoid those bootlegs if you see them.
Again the other place to pick this up would be www.freakemporium.com in the UK who sell the album pretty cheaply.
The Cosmic Union is a real headswirling psychedelic sitar stuff, very droney, extremely trippy and very Indian inspired. If you can't find a copy let me know and I may be able to suggest some other mailorder sources
