Hello everyone..I was wondering whats everyone's playing style? I'll start with mine: MEtallic/blues/somewhat SHred/funkadellic/Soul MusiQ. thats me..I love heavy metal I hope to one day start a Christian metal band. I'm all about playing guitar solos and hope to bring it back to the day when Guitar solos rulled. I love to jam out to classic rock and blues. I like to play some funky riffs with my Wah pedal. I"ve been playing for like 3 years so I'm still a rookie...but I"m having so much fun learning new stuff and techinques. My equipments is: Ibanez RG320 DX Marshall AVT 20 Jimmy Hendrix Wah Pedal Digitech RP 100 processor
my style... hmm. thats kinda hard to define. you could call my music *takes deep breath* psychedelic-folk-funk-blues-swing-jazz-spanish-twang... i guess. i play everything from jazz to punk, grateful dead to mudhoney. i play solo (mostly folk stuff) and with my band (flying penguin). my biggest stylistic influences would be jerry garcia and robby kreiger. i love to jam... its like painting a picture with sound. as far as having a goal... i just wanna make people groove. my setup is as follows... Fender Mustang (69 reissue) Epiphone Sheraton II (with SD antiquity PU's)*in the next month* Boss DS1 Dunlop Crybaby Boss OC3 *borrowed (gonna have to get one though) Fender Princeton Chorus amp (its not a 65W though...) i also play a washburn D10SCE acoustic-electric.
Ok, My turn!! I'm a pretty hardcore blues player with a nice Garcia flare. My main influences are SRV,Hendrix,David Gilmore, Warren Haynes, Jerry Garcia, Santana, and the list could go on and on and on.....well you get the picture. Oh,and I also play bass guitar which brings a lot of funk type stuff into my repertoire. Basically I'll play anything if I think it sounds good.(Even groove to some rap bass lines to get a few laughs during breaks at the clubs). Anyways My setup is as follows: Guiatr: 2000 Fender Am. Deluxe Strat-transparent teal with swamp ash body, vintage noiseless PU's,k sperzel locking machineheads Schecter C1+-Transparent black with flame top,2 duncan design HB's Washburn Tele Copy-Purple w/purple striped laminated neck,2 SC, 1 HB, coil tap Cryababy Wah, Tubeworks RT2100 Amp, 4x12 Marshall JCM Cab,Zoom 3000s effects board. Bass Rig: Ibanez SR1206 6-string bass, neck through with quilt top, Active EMG's, Gold hard., Another Transparent teal finish Ampeg SVT400t Amp head, David Eden 4x10 cab with tweeter.
My style is a mix between rock and death metal. My soloing is pretty metal-ish, but if I'm sitting around my house, I play with a lot of funk/rock riffs that I make up. I'm just touching up my influences, so I'm trying to listen to more stuff, but I'm a metal guy at heart.
Really heavy fuzzed out, downtuned psychedelic rock with wanderings into thrash metal and industrial rock. It is what it is.. The main influences of my band is; Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, Ministry and White Zombie. ..and yeah; our lead guitarist is a Jimi fanatic (a good one too). I'm the bassplayer and my rig consists of a Ibanez P-bass knockoff tuned to "C", a Schaller Wah/Fuzz (I never use the Wha though), a Electro Harmonix Bassballs Pedal(envelope filter with fuzz), an Ibanez 70's phaser and an old Peavey Century 200 watt head with an FBT cab.
Says it all here (also have my website posted in there which has my recordings) http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14290
Somewhere between wannabe Hendrix and Jimmy Page on crack.Love playing funk rhtyhms with a light distortion, close to the early Frusciante stuff but more rhythmic. I use a Fender Strat with a Cry Baby WahWah and various amps (whatever I found in the practising room).Sometimes it's quite fun if you play a 15 Watt Peavey Amp with maximum Volume and Bass ,you can create very strange sounds (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Style)
