We just posted a poll in politics asking whether the new airline regs are a reasonable precaution or unreasonable fear mongering What's y'alls' views on this?
IMO the new regs are Neither a reasonable precaution to a clear danger, nor an overt attempt by the government to instill fear in travelers. A plot was exposed, the (admittedly ridiculous and pointless) color danger system was bumped up to "red", and the new regs are being enforced... Basically it's the government being either "super safe", or covering it's ass, depending on how you look at it. BTW, I have a family member who works for TSA (the Transportation Security Administation), so if you're interested in knowing any details about the new regulations, or proceedures in general, just ask and I'll see what I can do to get an "inside" perspective.
