#1. Have you ever tried to find a forum and forgotten its name? We now have a feature that makes it easy to find any forum. http://www.hipforums.com/modules.php?moduleid=24 This search looks at forum titles and descriptions and will find any forum that matches your keyword for either. We now have over 400 forums, so it's a handy thing as many are subforums or personal forums not listed on our homepage. #2. Since we've had to disable the search function, I've now setup a Thread Search where you can search the titles of threads for a keyword. http://www.hipforums.com/modules.php?moduleid=25 It will return up to 200 results. If you can't find it, you might try another keyword instead. Enjoy!
Thanks. Now only if us MentalGiants will simply remember to use a descriptive thread title other than the usual duhh this bites I'm so ______________ Yall get the idea? I Know, I've done likewise...
Yup, the way it works is most search engines will take the keywords from the title of the thread. So if there are no worthy keywords the thread will rarely come up in a search, and therefore it will get much less activity. In fact a thread entitled "duhh", will lose most potential responses just from our existing members who won't waste their time clicking on a thread when they don't even know what it's about. And some titles are so stupid, you automatically realize the thread originator must be a 13-15 yr old (and if they're not that's sad!) or very, very stoned... (more often the case around here...)
