    Hey all-
I have decided that I want to let my hair dread. I had a baby in February and it feels like it's time for a drastic change :). So I was was wondering-would Burts bees rosemary mint shampoo bar be a good choice for my hair? It has pretty much the same ingredients as the knottyboy stuff-nothing funky that I can't pronounce :p. I'm really asking this because I have a bar of this stashed away in the bathroom. I have always been afraid to use it because I thought it wouldnt condition my hair enough-now that exactly what I want! So, good choice/bad choice? Help me out folks :D

    Dosnt really matter...
If you just combing your hair, your hair so going to dread... If the thing has no conditioner stuff in it then your really in the clear. Im switching back to reguler shampoo, but i dont wash it every day. Also my hair is dreading up, its doing a fine job...

Just dont worry, dont comb your hair, palm roll ever so often and keep your head up...

Yeah you should be okay... as long as you dont use anything with conditioners, you'll be fine. I use regular 'ol shampoo, like the cheap kind too, like $.89 a bottle, hah! Don't wash your hair everyday though, you need to let you hair figure out its oil cycle.. soon you'll figure out how often you should wash them and stuff. I only wash my dreads like.... once a week, usually a bit longer... unless they start reeking of bar smell.... ewww!

    Happy Dreading, good luck!

Thanks guys. I washed a couple of times with the Burts bees stuff (which smells delicious by the way) and my hair immediately went apeshit :) After a day of wild hair I was starting to get some wee bitty locks near my neck! That made me all excited so over the course of a couple of days I grabbed random sections and started backcombing. Nothing is perfectly sectioned and I like it alot. Don't worry-no wax ever touched my hair! No rubberbands either-just my crazy hair and a lot of elbow grease :)

Good luck stormyy with your dreads. They're your special creation, uniquely and utterly yours!

    Peace and love

I like burt's bees stuff alot. I just bought a bunch of their stuff. It's smells naturally good because it doesn't use all that artificial fragrance.
