I'm asking this because I live in Romania. They're all talking about this with excitement, I don't expect much from it though. It also seems that Romania will have to obey some rules and work harder after joining the EU.

It will make travel to the rest of Europe, and Romanians will have an easier time working in other EU countries. What rules will Romania and Romanians have to follow?
I was under the impression that most former Bloc countries couldn't meet the EU's defecit/debt requirements.
